I would like to alter how Morning Musume。 is addressed as a group.
Morning Musume。、 from 1st January 2014 , will have their group name changed into 「Morning Musume。 ’14」.
It will be read as 「Morning Musume One Four」.

Being rechristened in 2014 after 17 years of being 「Morning Musume。」、
For the sake of the group continuing on for 10, 20, 30 years from now on
「The single of the song entitled ○○○○, when was that song from！？」 or 「○○-san、 which age of Morning Musume was she from？」
I think such simple questions can be easily answered by distinguishing them with the 「year」 address.

Accordingly, the plan is to address them as 「Morning Musume。’15（Morning Musume One Five）」 from 1st January 2015.

Momusu will always be Momusu. It's not like changing the name will change their style, their music or their level, I'll continue loving them. (Though maybe it'll be a little difficult to get used to it)

Getting from what Tsunku said, it's just a matter of remembering them a little bit more specifically by year when you discuss them in the future.

You know how some people on the blog refer back to "Platinum Era", the One Four is just a way for each year to be an established time range so that it, in a sense, it becomes a bit more universal and official. It's kinda like how we established KSS into generations so that we can say things like "this batch (gen) was much better than batch (gen) etc." or "KSS member from generation X was awesome" even though Tsunku never really refers to each batch as such.

The number at the end may change, it might even disappear as Tsunku said, but Morning Musume will always be Morning Musume. As long as he doesn't go around changing those 2 words (and maybe the period but I didn't really pay attention to the dot until recently), I'm fine, though honestly this number thing is probably the best way to alter their name without completely changing it and confusing people.

Will be looking forward to Morning Musume. '14 and their 55th single!
