kumamon is gaining alot of popularity here in Japan. i think UF has created some genius marketing with this mascot. so much merchandise.

It's funny that I learned about Kumamon from a Meme and not through H!P.

It's not UF's design or anything. But they got super lucky who got Moritaka to sing the theme song. After all, they could just have gone with Suzanne or something who are also from Kumamoto and in a way almost as big or bigger. With Moritaka being associated with the song I can only imagine how much extra $$ and exposure that adds to her and UF in general.
Kumamon has been around since 2010.
