Their last single, Kanashiki Amefuri/Adam to Eve no Dilemma sold 40,059 copies on the 1st day, so an increase of about 5,000 copies. They might beat the total sales of that single in the 1st week alone.


The #1 came in with 46,536, C-ute could easily have been #1. Momoclo came in #3 with 39,882 copies, not far behind. It's all so close together, the single that will be most consistent over the whole week will probably take the weekly #1 spot.

Considering the tremendous media push Momoclo has gotten for this single, I am tremendously gratified even by this first day defeat. Even if for a brief moment, Japan's got it right. Momoclo are charming, but as performers they've peaked. Nothing against them, but they are as good as they're ever gonna get, and that is just "ok." Whereas C-ute keep getting tighter and more professional each time out. They deserve to be popular.
