According to this Wiki article, Jingisukan sold 30,667 its first week, and 37,096 total.
If Romance no Tochuu actually sold exactly 37,000 copies first week, then they haven't beaten Jingisukan yet. But I guess I was assuming that it was an estimated number?
And also slightly jumping the gun. But realistically this single will be breaking 40k.

Congrats to Juice=Juice! I'm surprised, because I enjoy the song, but I honestly don't think it was worthy of such a strong start. Here's hoping they can continue with this sort of attention, though, and not be one of those many groups that start hot and slowly drift into obscurity.

For the record, Berryz has a ton of songs that deserved to sell so much better than they did.

Definitely agreed. When I went to check J=J's sales against Berryz I honestly didn't expect what I found.

I've said before that Romance no Tochuu isn't the strongest song, but the Memorial edits of their first two songs really make up for it because they are very good songs.

Also I haven't like Berryz recent stuff, but for their stuff in the past YES they deserved to sell much better, but unfortunately for them they were releasing quality songs during a time when H!P didnt get nearly the amount of attention they do now. In a way Juice=Juice got lucky, but it doesn't mean they don't deserve their success.

I really miss those days of Berryz. Their Inazuma singles were top notch! I wish they could go back to that.

It's true that they debuted on a much more prosperous era. At the moment they're my 3rd favorite unit (below Berryz and S/mileage), so I'm glad for this superb debut. I love all the songs in this single, it's rock solid release and it deserves these numbers.
