This is the last Best Of we got (though it was only LE), so I'm expecting songs to start with the EJL grad single, and no new arrangements (which I would be thrilled to have) since no MM compilation has ever done that. It would have 15ish songs, if that's the case... maybe room for a new song like Say Yeah!

That's a Japan Expo limited, hardly the one they'll go by.

But even so. Notice how this doesn't even have a number in it. If it was a regular Best of Album it'd probably be a Best of Morning Musume 3. But it's not. And it's not a complete best of, which we got way back for their 10th anniversary.
This is "THE BEST" + Updated Morning Musume.
I expect: Morning Coffee, LOVE Machine, Renai Revolution 21, The Peace, I WISH... Of course most of their songs from their 50th.
But aside from that... I don't know. Maybe Daite HOLD ON ME since that was the first oricon 1st.

I definitely don't think it'll be a best of album covering everything from Mikan -> Ai no Gundan. No way.

but hopefully this will sell just as good, or even better than C-ute's recent best of album. Totally hoping for amazing DVD content, and photo booklets again. Ugh that was such a great album for C-ute. x.x

Judging by the title as it says "Updated", it does allude to the possibility of covers which is both a good and a bad thing.
Its good because its fun, but bad because it all honestly it probably won't live up to the original songs in any way because they're all products of their own time. But unless we get official confirmation then its best not to get our hopes up until then.

Re-recordings of old hits will make it sell.
Make the DVD content great and that'll make it sell.
Morning Musume's recent popularity will make it sell as well.

Add great covers, great PR and maybe even a TV appearance and I'll never complain again. =X

If it follows the C-ute remix album formula then I'll be happy ( I know not everyone did but I really liked it) but I've really been looking forward to hearing some MM songs given the same treatment.

As did I. I have a 16G iPhone 5 and a rather extensive iTunes library, which means it won't all fit on that device.
Pretty soon, I found myself not syncing the old versions anymore and opting for the re-arranged versions. I personally find them much more to my liking.

About the only thing I didn't enjoy about that release was Mai getting Maimi's opening monologue in "Tokaikko Junjou".
Then again, it does make sense that she were to get it given that the other members aren't exactly children anymore.

You know what they should do?

They should get fans to vote on what songs they should cover. And the 15 most voted songs get on the album. That way the more popular songs (amongst fans anyway) get on there. Which would make it sell more. And then have a 16th song that's an original one.

I mean, this isn't gonna happen because they've probably already finalised the details, but hey. Maybe next time. I can dream.

You don't get to claim this one for yourself. I was 98% disappointed with that album, and the fact that they ruined one of my favorite songs didn't help.
