[8/28] Morning Musume。54th single - Wagamama Kinomama Ai no Joke / Ai no Gundan [#1 single, 144k]

I love how the poll is basically 50-50 with it jumping from one winning to the other. Shows how strong both songs are.

Also some of you guys are a bit bias in your "which person is like a certain graduated Morning Musume member" discussion. I think Murotan is cute and all, but thinking she could be the next Miki... Yeah I don't think she's shown that during her time in the eggs at all. Not in talent nor attitude. Miki was a person who was better off solo or Ayaya in my opinion. She had vocals so strong she completely dominated Morning Musume while she was in the group. It's not that Murotan wouldn't be a good addition to Morning Musume if she got that far, I just don't think there is a Miki in all of the kenshuusei. Some random girl would have to audition and be that member. She would have to walk in with crazy charisma and vocal ability and totally push herself to the front within like the first two singles.

Honestly I don't really like Miki. She's like my least favorite member of all time... and I like Murotan haha

I could say some other stuff too, but my bias might show. I think the closest person to Miki is Riho. Riho is more a Reina to me though. She could also be Goto Maki. Mizuki is my Sayu, Rika girl. I can see Erina in that role too tho. Sorry guys but to me Sakura is Ai-chan! Personality and talent wise. That's why I love her. I just love her voice the same way I did aichan. And honestly she isn't pushed as much as Riho so it's kind of like Aichan who wasn't immediately the ace of the group. Masaki is clearly Kago and Tsuji. Maybe Haruka could be the Kago to her Tsuji. Haruka and Erina could also be Hitomi in terms of boyishness and ikemen looks but Hitomi was very tough in personality as well so I don't see it completely matching up. I don't know who Kanon would be. Haruna is Kaori and I'm pretty sure everyone has already agreed lol Hmm Ayumi I don't know either. Yeah this is how I feel based on my perception on the members. Haha

I don't think Fujimoto dominated Morning Musume's vocals at all though, at the very least as far as the A-sides are concerned. So in that way somebody who has the potential to be a very good vocalist alongside a talent like Sakura...I'll still stand that Murota could fill that role. But this is only about potential, no one's anywhere near the mark of the people we're comparing them to yet.

There's actually another Kenshuusei I'd compare with Fujimoto... at least looks wise, and that's Makino.

Funny that the poll is pretty even but Wagamama is killing Gundan as far as YT hits is concerned. 377k - 246k (Those are both a fantastic number of views in only a few days though)

Let's see Sakura carry the group through an entire concert with the lion's share of the vocals instead of just a line here and there, then we'll see about that.

I prefer the WagaJoke MV over the Gundan MV just for the simple fact that the dance is more fierce and I just enjoy the song more. Not saying I hate Gundan, I love it for its own reasons, the outfits being my favorite and the dance and song being quirky and interesting, but there's just something about WagaJoke that I love more. (I think it's the instrumental break coupled with the slapping and the 2nd outfit. They looks so sharp!)

Fujimoto really came off that way to me. And then she was leader over the Gokkies even though she was a Rokkie. Her fans were crazy too. Ugh I just never liked Miki. It felt like she wasn't even a Rokkie and was just there taking over everything.

As far as potential goes I think Rikako has potential to be a Miki-GotoMaki Type. I think her vocals aren't there yet but her ace quality and attitude are up there.

True. Alot of Ai no Gundans views are actually in that Hello Station episode because it was over a week before they finally uploaded Ai no Gundans full PV. I know I had Hello Station on repeat so I could listen to the song. People probably switched over to Wagamama because its a week fresher than Ai no Gundan lol

Miki had seniority over 5th gen, she knew showbiz and had been in it longer than they had. As far as dominating MM, Aichan did that way more than Miki ever did in terms of singing etc. Not necessarily a bad thing as she was skilled enough to do it.

I think anyone within the Kenshuusei could have the potential to become a "new" Miki at this point. Though I only look at it from a position/promotion point of view. And in that sense... there's not really much that needs to be unique. She was popular and a front girl and quite pushed from the moment she joined MM. Could be anyone really, but it's more likely that it'd be a kenshuusei than an unknown girl as they would already have fans.

That gives Rikako even more Miki advantage since Rikako has fans from her days in SCK Girls. She's also been on TV and is known for being a AKB look alike.

I don't like that Miki went in with that advantage and fan base from a solo career. Sure Aichan was lead vocal in Morning Musume, but maybe I don't feel the same way because she grew within Morning Musume. When she joined she wasn't already polished.

Anyway my feelings towards Miki are my personal opinion. No one has to agree really.

I find Sakura much more enjoyable than Ai. I prefer Sakura's looks, personality and voice. Ai was more talented, sure, but by the time she was dominating the lines, she'd been in the group for 5+ years. Sakura's hardly had any experience, and she's already as good as she is. She'll keep getting better, and I can't wait to see what she's like in 5 years (assuming she's still around, which she hopefully will be).
