Both A-Sides are nice ... but I like "Ai no Gundan" better.
It's perfect for me! <3

I think, my problem with "Wagamama ..." is, that it sounds too "messy" for me.

Yay, the poll!! <3

I love both songs, but I decided that my favorite of the two is definitely Ai on Gundan. Wagamama is great; it catches your attention because it's fast and powerful--it's just born to be an a-side, and it's understandable why it's the main a-side. However, I don't always like really fast songs. It's the same for Brainstorming. I can't listen to it over and over and over without feeling a little tired, which is partly why I prefer Kimi Sae in the previous double a-side and why I prefer Ai no Gundan to Wagamama. Also, I'm a lyrics person, and the lyrics to Wagamama doesn't impress me that much. Maybe it's the awkward translation, but I don't think that much got lost in the translation.

Ai no Gundan, on the other hand, sounds more musically interesting to me. I like how it sounds random the first few times you listen to it, just like many of the recent singles. The sounds more relaxing and doesn't try to be so epic, attention-grabbing, and the girls don't need to try to be so cool and fierce (which doesn't always work for me anyway). All of that plus the great choreography and PV concept makes it seem like you're watching some professional dancing in a fairy tale play, which I like a lot.

No "I like them both" option ? Awww
Wagamama Ai no Joke for me then, can't wait for the instrumental track. It's going to be awesome, especially the part in the middle where they start slinging uh, something at each other

I find the lyrics pretty cool too. It's mostly about being a no-nonsense very confident kinda person, mocking people who claims to know you and what you want, rejecting needless drama or other people's trouble to be dumped on you put of nowhere and yet the obligatory yearning for love ... well at least that's my take on it. "Selfish" and "whimsical" is on the song title after all lol but somehow it pulls it off without sounding too arrogant or self-centered.
It's a pretty rare angle for an MM single to take and I really enjoyed that .... not that I hate the usual mushy-mushy lyrics or anything :fear:

@JonCC - So if I don't like autotuning and appreciate vocal talent I shouldn't listen to idol music? A few names for you, Aya Matsurra, Miki Fujimoto, Ai Takahashi, Abe Natsumi, Tanaka Reina, Kikkawa Yuu, Goto Maki... You know what these all have in common? Great vocals that can hit stuff without the need for being auto-tuned to death. Secondly, you ask how I can like Kikka's songs post solo? aside from darling to madonna and koko kara hajimarunda, she has very little auto-tuned work, unless I am deaf and songs like Aitakunattara, To Be, Knight flight, sayonara namida, hako no naka no blue, mizuiro and a huge tonne of others are over-engineers auto-tuned pieces. *drops mic*

Autotune's widely used in dubstep/dance music, though. Once they stop with the dubstep, the autotune will probably stop.

I like how amped put the option of changing one's vote.

For now, I like Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke because its a great song and memorable in my opinion.

And the autotuning, I think they have been using it in an okay way. I mean, there are other artist out there who uses it 100% of the time and making really annoying song. :/ It's one of the reasons I really hate listing to music on the radio nowadays.

@kikkame I feel that JonCC was talking about other idol groups not just within H!P. The use of autotuning is very commonly used with idol groups that can afford it. I personally have no problem with it seeing as most of the time it inhances the song.

I like both songs. Both have been stuck in my head all day. I prefer Ai no Gundan as a song, but Wagamama Kinomama Ai no Joke has a better PV. But honestly both songs are awesome and both PVs are awesome.

PS: Sohee can you translate the translations of the two songs. Ai no Gundan's english translation makes me want to rage. Wagamama is only slightly easier to understand.

Autotune is not just a handicap for singers that can't sing well. I mean, it helps them, but it's also part of the style that's popular right now. Morning Musume still delivers great live performances despite the autotune here and there in the songs; you still get lines that are vocally demanding and have no autotune. I guess you could complain if you REALLY want to hear Sayu (and a few others) sing live, but Sayu's voice is quite unique that Robo Sayu enhances the song a lot, in my opinion. They don't use autotune blindly just to make up for lack of vocal abilities but because it actually sounds good. I don't feel that H!P is overdoing it.
