Henneko was really, really good. I loved it. Probably my favourite show of the season (not that I watched much).

I found out yesterday, while reading the new TV Guide, that the show "Good Luck Charlie" on the Disney Channel is going to have the channel's very first gay couple (or openly out characters) ever. The people heading up the show even went so far as to have the script for the episode reviewed to make sure they were representing people in a fair way.

...Points for you, Disney. Points for you.
That doesn't mean you're out of the shit yet though, not after killing off some of your animation staff and making the new "Frozen" girls look like Rapunzel's long-lost sisters.

Not much coming out of the summer season appeals to me. (Seems to be similar for J/K/Tdramas, and even US TV.)

Definitely Watching:
"Corpse Party: Tortured Souls" (OVA)

Looks Hopeful:
"Free!" (Series)
"Kin-iro Mosaic" (Series)

Ehhh, Maybe:
"Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi" (Series)
"Gen'ei wo Kakeru Taiyou" (Series)
"Blood Lad" (Series)

- I also really like the promo art I've seen for "Brothers Conflict", but the synopsis just sounds boring. Maybe if I find myself in the mood to try something random one day.

Only following Genshiken Nidaime so far out of obligation to my college anime/manga/game research club inspired by the manga. The complete seiyuu overhaul kinda annoys me a bit ok more than a bit but I'm willing to give it a chance.

... and uh, the Rozen Maiden reboot anime (don't judge me :fear: ) for similar nostalgia factors. I won't hesitate to drop this one like a hot potato on the first sign of suckage though.

ANYWAY!!
Just watched Pacific Rim yesterday, it's pretty frickin awesome!! Not even much of a mecha fan but I can definitely dig it if done right and in this case it most certainly is. Typical summer blockbuster flaws aside, the plot is coherent enough and some characters charming enough not to detract too much from the sheer spectacle of it.

There's a lot of doom and gloom predictions surrounding this movie's predicted success rate so I really hope it does well... it's gonna suck so bad if it does worse than the Transformers movies -___-

unrelated : didn't realize Ashida Mana was in it lol. Heard a lot about how popular the kid is in Japan but this is actually the first time I've ever seen her act... she's good :o

Steam Summer Sale is here. My wishlist has been massively attacked by green labels, someone please freeze my cards.

Actually no, my Steam library is actually not too big. And some of the stuff I want is $2.49 right now :hehe:

Game of Thrones reference on this week's Pretty Little Liars.

Basically, Spencer (the girl) wants information from the nerdy-looking guy. She also said something like, "I get it, 'You shall not pass,' right"? Then he finally gave in and told her something, and that's the scene in the video.

The actress, Troian Bellisario, is a GoT fan in real life.

Once again: the hottest show on TV. :P

Although I'm not sure what point she's trying to make. Does she mean Dany's speech to the remnants of her khalasar? :geek:

Or is she just revealing her inner nerd to get what she wants from another nerd who doesn't usually talk to pretty girls? It seems like that kind of show.

Just edited my post above. She wants some information from a nerd (who was also quite distracted by his video game), so she threw in a few fantasy references. This article links to this video, so I think that's the speech.

Finished watching season 3 of The Walking Dead.

Nayoko-Kihara wrote:The Walking Dead:

Fair enough.

I will be revisiting you with this question after you get further along in the show. XD

Spoiler: show
Regarding Carl... I don't have any strong feelings toward him. I think he's trying to adapt to the world they're living in, and he wants to be one of the fighters rather than one of the weaker ones, especially since he's a kid and both his parents are there. His dad and Shane (another role model) are both cops and leaders of the group, so he probably would rather be like them than like Sophia (the other kid). As a kid, he probably feels that he needs to prove himself more and doesn't want to be seen as weak ever, like being afraid to go fight walkers or, as in the last episode, being afraid to kill someone when it might be necessary.

Some thoughts on the other characters:

Characters I like:
- Daryl: Probably my favorite
- Glenn: Second favorite
- Maggie
- Michonne: Didn't like her at the beginning, but liked her after she joined the group.

Characters I don't like:
- Rick
- Shane: Creepy at times.
- Andrea: I liked her in the first two seasons, but didn't like her in the third.
- Dale

Neutral:
- Lori
- Carl
- Carol
- Hershel
- Beth: I like her in season 3 because she actually contributes by taking care of the baby.
- most other characters
