My goodness, Yattaruchan and Atarashii Watashi ni Nare are complete opposites and I love them both so much!

I hesitated Atarashii because of the grown up sexy image, because 2nd gen is still technically to young to be shown like that, but I still loved it! It was a new style of Smileage; more serious and cool with sexy on top.

Then we have Yattaruchan to bring out the original smileage that I think has been lost since Postwoman and Uchouten Love. I also hesitated due to the weirdness but boy did I change my mind quick when I saw the MV. Amazing, cute, energetic, fun, and Kana!!! I love Kana and despite any solo singing lines she did have marvelous monologues =)

Meimei's new voice is just fantastic, and her dance burst in her solo line "Jibun wo kaete shiranakya" was the bomb! Ayaka definitely fits the new image and Kanon is just plain awesome! I don't know why she isn't the popular one. Akari is cool and I like her also.

Rina, she's starting to fade. In Suki yo, when I heard her voice, I started having hope for her. She did receive one more solo line than Kana in Atarashii but her MV scenes with them weren't too good. She really needs to step up her energy and try a bit more with facial expression and dancing.

Kana has been my "hope" favorite since Postwoman. I see she's trying hard and now she's doing it! She no longer stands out in dances, and she's actually much better than Rina in almost all aspects, except maybe singing. I love the yattaruchan push for Kana and hopefully all this promotion she's working on ends up promoting herself well in the end.

Overall, Smileage has regained my interest. After their lack of anything since the mediocre Tabidachi in March I think, I started losing hope. But they definitely gained it back with, not only 1, but 2 A side songs that are fantastic!

In terms of unit comparisons, I would say that Juice and Smile are at my peak interest. Morning is still searching for a new generation and Cute is doing alright with their Sad Rain, Berryz is kinda loosing it but I like their Golden Chinatown.

Yes, both Atarashii Watashi and Yattaruchan are awesome songs. I love both to death. I'm not really big on typical S/mileage songs but Yattaruchan was great. now I'm looking forward to what they have planned in the future.
