I think this live performance is kind of like performing on Conan in the states. His studio isn't really meant for live music, and so universally every performance there pretty much sounds terrible. The instrumental sounds empty, simply because this show doesn't seem to be as decked out as the other shows. That, combined with the fact that the song itself isn't terribly interesting, then that makes for a lackluster show.
Re-Maasa: I think that is just her serious face. Is she that good at dancing? I was always under the impression that her dead-pan expression was because of her concentrating on the moves so much, combined with her trying to do a sultry/serious face to fit the tone of the songs. In concert, when the routine isn't too taxing, she's smiling and having a great time. She's also amazing in MC, especially when paired with Chii or Momo. I just wonder how they can translate all of the good things that they have going on in concerts, to backstage stuff and to PVs and tv appearances.
They have it, it's there. It's just a matter of making sure 'it' is turned on all of the time.
