Everyone in NYC wears those shoes. I see them all the time. It didn't even stand out to me when the girls were wearing them. It's a new thing, (maybe a couple of months to a year) but it's definitely not unusual.

I would just prefer it if they were wearing normal kswisses or something is all It's not like it's a decision that ruins the outfits for me; i get the vision that they were going for and it's cool, just not my particular aesthetic.

(I do enjoy the socks though, like Amped said).

I personally would never wear them because I'm a little taller than average. They look cute on shorter people though.
