And why the elongation of the legs with the dresses? They are on some kind of stool or something with way to long dresses so make their legs look longer, but it just looks weird.

They're not standing on a box... They have heels on and the dresses have high-cut empire waist lines. Massively long legs is just the effect that prom-style dresses have.
