But lol. "Could" isn't really a common English term that most Japanese knows, I'd say. Next. Is. You. Are all super common words that everyone knows.

Exactly. 99% of Japanese youth could understand "next time" - but when you get into the grammar of "could" being about potential or allowance or blah blah blah - it's the part of language class you forget when you walk out the door.

"Next is you" sounds fine to me, at least in spoken English. You can say things like, "Next we have....", "Next up is...", and something like "First we have Sayu. Then we have Reina. Then Mizuki. Next is Eripon...."

It isn't perfect english, but then english isn't their main language, nor are they looking mainly for english speakers so it is fine.
Maachan taking most of the conversation, I feel Eripon, Maachan and Haruka will be the main talkers in the group and I hope they never back down from it.
