Also, just... the "Don't cry, dry ya eyes" Slick Rick reference is so... weird.

When you see an English or Engrish phrase like that it's always fun to try to figure out when it first entered the H!P/Jpop lexicon.
Like for example "Mr. Moonlight" was the name of a song that the Beatles covered on one of their early albums, and as we all know, Tsunku's a huge Beatles fan.

As far as "Don't cry" it could've come from Slick Rick’s "Lodi Dodi" , or maybe from the Snoop Dogg cover. The Fugees also had a song with that name. But personally, my guess is Tupac's "keep your head up"
