Also I was annoyed by the lazy approach that they are taking to the Grandfather Paradox. Mack has laid out that this version of time travel isn't subject to the butterfly effect. Small changes sort of dampen out over time, so that the "future" isn't altered unless you do something catastrophic like kill off a key player. OK, I'm fine with that. But that means that when Jiaying was apparently killed, obviously she's not really going to stay dead because then Daisy would never have been born. At least, the characters seem worried about her winking out of existence. But more than that -- IF Nathaniel Malick had killed Jiayang, and Daisy was never born, then he would never have gotten his Quake powers from her, and not been in a position to kill Jiaying in the first place. Grandfather Paradox invoked. So why are we even going down this path? It seems a pointless feint.
