Regular B is the only not-bad one to me, but it still isn't great.

The rest of them look like amateur art projects that have had too much thought put into them. They're overworked and need to be rearranged/cleaned up.

Gyakushu

It's still Gyakushuu. Because it's ぎゃくしゅう, or 逆襲. If you type in ぎゃくしゅ, it gives you 逆種, which is wrong. The extra "u" is important.

Which is why I still maintain that it's Koubou rather than Kobo. 工房 is こうぼう, not こぼ. You type in こぼ, you get 小保.

Same with names -- Sato vs Satou, Kudo vs Kudou etc. 里 is different than 佐藤 and 九度 is different than 工藤.

They drop "u"s all the time in romanisation, but I personally feel like we should stick with what the hiragana reading actually is, rather than the "official" romanisation. That way it's less confusing.

We never did it in the past in this fandom (Saitou Hitomi was Saitou, not Saito), and I'm a bit confused as to why it's suddenly changing.

Re Kanon: she seems to be rather upset since the 2nd gen joy probably because her life got fucked up by the member changes and her weight.

Kanon has said herself that she was upset when 2nd gen joined. And that it stuck with her a lot and that she was jealous of Ayacho who was very accepting and open. But since Budoukan she has changed and these days she's very open and willing to do her best.
So it happened, she talked about it and now she's moved on.

^^^ What we type in to create kanji isn't standard roumaji (or rōmaji) in the first place. If that were the case then the roumaji for e.g. ごめんなさい would be gomexnnasai or gomennnasai. Different input methods don't even 100% agree with each other, much less with standard roumaji! If you have a personal issue with non-wapuro roumaji that's okay, but don't kid yourself that it's a more logical position to take.

It shouldn't even be roumaji, because despite being ローマ字, it means "Roman characters", so "romaji" is correct. If anything it should be capitalised.

Basically, the way I see it: if there are two "u"s in the hiragana reading, it should be romanised with two "u"s. Long vowel sounds should be indicated, because that's the way they're written.

EDIT: On a lighter note, I was checking the 2ch thread and saw this:

bloomerってブルマらしいぞ

"Bloomer makes me think of bloomers" (as in gym shorts).

As an English teacher in Japan and someone who formally learned Japanese I am of one opinion on this. I am starting to write those 'u's. Not writing them in the fandom has now messed me up writing those kanji in other situations like tests.

But importantly I have also made a fool of myself when exchanging mails with Japanese fans because I mispelled names.

There are enough people trying to learn Japanese or with passing interest in the language that honestly I feel responsible to romanize the way that each hiragana gets representation. So that if you see the romaji you know how to change it into hiragana without trouble. For example I had always thought romaji was ロマ字 until reading Zunu's post and I've been studying Japanese for almost 8 years now.
