I'm really glad they let all the girls go to the front of the line. There are so many ... umm... well... creepy looking guys in that line. It's nice that if they had to cancel early MM would get to meet all their female fans first.

Do we know if the CDs sold at the event count towards the ranking? I know we've discussed a few times before, but everyone seemed pretty split on the topic. Like maybe it depends on the event?

Im glad they are treating the female fans really well. Everyone there deserves an award for staying that long to watch Morning Musume。 :'D

^ i haven't really seen a split opinion on that? we may not remember the exact number, but it was definitely a rule that only X amount of CD's sold at events would count for Oricon. they probably reached that limit already, it wasn't a particularly large number. i'm don't know why there'd be a distinction between types of events (at least for H!P), considering all their events have/will consist of being either a handshake event, or the release event itself (which in essence is a handshake event too.. just longer and with merchandise available).

although.. i'm not sure whether they count the event sales on a per-day basis, or whether they tack them on in the weekly sales number.

^ luckily it's not just for this release/group. when we went to Mobekimasu events (the handshake event where they went to different cities in small groups, and later the Hello! Project Festival with all of Mobekimasu) it was the same thing. i'm sure they've been doing it this way for a while. families/kids get it even better, they got to sit in front of everyone, in front of the barricades set up for the rest of the audience.

lol i wonder how the wota feel about that. if they get mad thats stupid since it brings more fans

also i heard that there is a way to get around that Oricon rule. they set up official store booths like Tower Record or Shinseido shops at the events so all the copies sold count as officially store bought. (this isnt just for MM its for everyone )

That's a great idea for us, as fans, because the ranking is like our little trophy - but really I don't think UFA would go through the trouble. Especially when they can sell CDs and not claim them and save a little chunk on tax.

^ that would be awesome for today but I think the weekend's events are most likely to give them a bigger push for #1
