I wish my parents could get it, but they're not ~old enough~ for it right now. Alabama is focused on vaccinating people 65+; mom is 61, dad is 64.
Both of them have pre-existing conditions (asthma, hypertension) and my mom is immunocompromised due to her RA medication, so I especially worry about what would happen if she caught it.
I have pre-existing conditions too, but since I'm 26, I'm not high on the priority list for a vaccine at all.
Since I'm on the subject of pre-existing conditions...
I went to my nurse practitioner today for a foot issue (nothing major!) and ended up talking to her about hypertension.
I knew I had a good chance of getting it since it runs deep in
both sides of my family, but I didn't anticipate it hitting so soon.
My BP actually used to be really good; it's just gone to crap within the last few months. So she's trying me on low dose hydrochlorothiazide for now! We'll see what happens with that.
