I've said before that I think Nonaka is more fluent in English than many of us give her credit for. That when she speaks on stage at a concert or event, she deliberately overenunciates like a TOEFL instructor, and when she speaks more casually without thinking about it, she sounds like a normal American teenager.
Well, here ya go (skip to 7:46 if you don't care about the game)…
We've always wanted an American member of Morning Musume. We're probably not gonna get anyone more American than Nonaka.
(sorry Mika, Mini Moni doesn't count.)
