On 3b junior's new show,the girls inhaled helium gas during filming (to do that "make your voice higher because it's funny" thing), and one of them had a reaction to it and was unconscious for an hour despite first aid.

The girls were playing with "party goods", except they were intended for adults instead of children, so the dosage of helium was too high. Some sources are saying there's a chance she could be paralysed down one side.

...How does something like that, involving checmicals, not get double and triple checked by both agency management and TV production (and everyone else in-between working on the show) when it's going to involve children?

I just read what people are saying about the incident at momoiroclover.org -- it sounds like it could be pretty bad:

According to the most detailed report I've seen it happened on the 28th, but was kept quiet until they realized she'd be hospitalized for a while. One point against the people in charge.

After taking a big breath of helium, which is more "slippery" than air, it somehow entered the bloodstream and got stuck in the brain, where the bubbles obstruct the blood flow. After a week the girl still can't speak. Doctors aim for full recovery, but can't rule out permanent damage.

As one of the people at the momoclo forum pointed out, that's a cerebral air embolism, which can be very bad. And heads may roll from this...

keeping it quiet is really the worst, it just made everyone else throw further suspicion and that's also when the two of the most talkative higher ups of stardust in twitter suddenly stop tweeting since yesterday. The tv show production company, Trickstar also deleted Hoshikuzu Shoji from their portfolio and facebook.

I really hope she and her family are able to fully recover. I hope the people in charge of managing the group and producing the show are held accountable on a high level.
