The reason the video for KFC was even created by wordlwide fans was to show that Sashihara Rino had support from people around the world. It went viral because AKB's youtube channel picked up on the video.

That said, it would be seriously cool to see What is LOVE? done in the same format that the KFC fan video was done in with fans all over the world. If my damn laptop was not acting up, I would totally host it.

Mostly of KFC's covers were represented by groups of office workers doing stuff together. And I say stuff because you could barely see somebody with a decent dance level or at least putting some effort (well, there ware th funny dudes too ). Plus I bet that a good part of them were pushed by their superiors or something. No dance formation, nothing.

So, let's just not compare What is Love? to AKB's Kentucky Fried Cookie because it's not worth it.

thats not what they're trying to do here. this song is for the fans, made in collaboration with the fans. this dance project thing is showcasing that!
its not supposed to catch on by its dance, its supposed to show off MM's dance formations and make fans appreciate dance formations more.

AKB's KFC was relying on gimmicks to attract random people into liking the song (something no better than Gangnam style but more uninspiring), What is Love is a celebration of the fans who have helped make the song.
