I think its not My Little Pony we should be looking at. Eventho the gift is the pony but its not a gift from Hasbro, its from Bushiroad, one of the top producer of card games. They make Card Fight Vanguard. If there is any collaboration, its more likely coming from Bushiroad's Card Fight Vanguard card game or the anime.

This could seem far fetched but this is how I see the connection Bushiroad CEO, Takaaki Kidani and Good Smile Company CEO, Aki Takanori are known to be good business partners. Good Smile Company owns Good Smile Cafe. The Akihabara outlet is located in Akiba Culture Zone. Yes that is where Tsunku's Akihabara Backstage Pass restaurant is located. Just 1 floor above Good Smile Cafe. No doubt. Tsunku and Takanori-san would have crossed path, since having business in the same building. Maybe through networking, Kidani-san got intouch with Tsunku and came to know Morning Musume. I won't be surprised if Kidani-san becomes a fan of Fukuhime. One could say Fukuhime has a figure that is perfect to be sculptured into a figurine
