^ It's technically a fruit, but is sometimes considered a vegetable.

^thx lol, I always considered it a fruit myself so I'm kinda confused hearing people refer it as a vegetable

Sayu's goal this year is to create and establish Reborn Morning Musume even after Reina graduates and she's the only one left in group who's over 20 among all the new members. She did say she's going to graduate too eventually but before that she wants to make sure her Reborn Morning Musume is properly established for the fans and the casual public.
T ____ T I'll just take that as a guarantee of no graduation announcement this year or even the year after /wishful thinking
Letter from a listener
从*・ 。.・)<【This is a bit abrupt, but please compare Morning Musume's current members to vegetables 】

从*・ 。.・)<It really does come out of nowhere huh。fufufufu。It's okay♪
Umm, first of all Iikubo'd definitely be a gobō
      fufufu~w。
This is really in a good way though。 Sayumi envies her actually, Iikubo seems like she has the type of metabolism that simply doesn't gain much weight.
No matter what she eats, and she eats a lot. Like after meals, no wait before it ... she always eats sweets
After her meals, and usually large servings at that, she also always orders desert. She'll be like "Ahh, I'm full" afterwards. No matter how you see it, eating
that much food will definitely make you fat but she somehow doesn't at all. The person herself seems to be pretty concerned about it, but well ...
normally other girls would be jealous of her actually (lol)
Not only that, Iikubo is pretty tanned-looking right? She looks healthy so that's why I think she's a gobō (lol)
Aahh that was funny, Iikubo is really interesting don't you think ww。

从*・ 。.・)<Okaay next ー?Uuuhnn as for Reina she's a cabbage.
Well in terms of vegetables ... how do I put it? It's the King of vegetables, or at least that's how cabbage is in Sayumi's imagination
She's the current Morning Musume's face and a very important existence for it. Ah but cabbages have that sort of hard crunchy texture to it right?
Recently Reina's becoming softer/more tender so maybe more like a lettuce fufufu~。
Or maybe a cabbage that has been grilled a little? Yeah Reina is a a grilled cabbage with a soft center (lol)。

从*・ 。.・)<Then Sayashi is umm ... next in line of the cabbage, she's a broccoli。 As the next ace, always doing her best, it feels like she's trying to follow in
Reina's steps. Next to her also doing her best with her dancing is Ishida, she's a cauliflower. I think she resembles Sayashi in stature and also by being
very good at dancing. Basically they're almost in a symmetrical place but Sayashi is still the Senpai and she has more singing parts. It's like the still pure
white cauliflower is on its way to gain colors like broccoli's and is now doing her best in everything (lol)

从*・ 。.・)<And Fukuchan's a Satoimo fufufu~
Don't you think Fukuchan gives that impression? When you bite into it, its white skin (lol) umm ... it's like shuwaaa~ and the deliciousness just seeps out
and it has that pure white feeling and softness in it.

从*・ 。.・)<Sato is unexpectedly difficult but if I had to say it now she's probably green peas, small and keep rolling around fufufu~
She is small you know and this small kid is running all over the place yelling "tanasa-tan!~" around Reina. She's definitely green peas

从*・ 。.・)<Suzuki's a cucumber. This is well, it just fits her fufufu~. Don't you think it fits her? Suzuki's image color is also green so I just get that impression
There's that scene in Tonari no Totoro where they eat cucumbers right? I think cucumber has that image makes you think of nature and a countryside
scenery. It kinda fits Suzuki so that's why she's a cucumber

从*・ 。.・)<Ikuta is uhmm~~、she's a garlic。somehow(lol)I mean this in a really good way though. Usually girls don't like it when you mention garlic around them
right? At first I thought she's gonna be hard to get along with, I kept thinking "Why does she keep staring at me like that? Even though she's a new
member (lol) Is she alright? She's still staring ... wow her pupils looks really wide" It was hard to approach her at first. It was the same with garlic right?
It's hard to eat it at first and people are going to say you stink of it ... Oh I'm not saying that Ikuta smells or anything (lol) . But somehow when you start
eating, it actually tastes good. And when used in cooking it also brings out the flavors, in garlic rice or with yakiniku for example. Somehow it sounded
bad but what I meant to say is at certain times and places Ikuta really brings out some great flavors like a garlic.

从*・ 。.・)<Kudou is an eggplant. Just in terms of appearance alone, Sayumi dislikes eggplants a little. That goes for Kudou too (lol)
If anyone's going to describe me it's probably something along kawaii-chara right? Kudou is the exact opposite, although from the outside she's very cute looking but she also seems a bit boyish and is more like a shonen-chara. So I'm not sure how to approach her, just like how I feel about eggplants at first but after I tried eating it now I really like it. The same goes with Kudou, after talking to her a lot recently I found out how childish and cute she really is. So Kudou is like an eggplant that although from the outside it doesn't look like something that would match well with me but after trying it it's actually very delicious

从*・ 。.・)<Who else ... oh yeah Oda-chan. Oda is ... Oda, Oda, Oda, Oda, Oda, Oda, Oda ..... ahh what was it ーー
      Wait a minute , I'll remember it ...
*cut to a song(Next Myself)
从*・ 。.・)<Continuing from before, Oda-chan if compared to vegetable would be a negi
I chose negi for a good reason. For example, when eating ramen that's normally delicious already but you can sprinkle negi on top of it and it'll become
even more delicious. I think that's the role she's going to play in Morning Musume from now on. The current Morning Musume already feels complete but
with Oda-chan as a plus it'll become even better than I imagined. Also I picked Negi for her because it matches great with almost any kind of food. It's
good in stir-fried vegetables and also in a hotpot, Oda chan is also like that. She adapts very quickly to her surroundings and in Morning Musume now
too she's very easy to become friendly with

从*・ 。.・)<And then for myself, I'm a tomato. fufufu♪~ Or probably more of a mini-tomato. Tomatoes are very cute don't you think?
Moreover if cabbage is the king of vegetables, then tomato is the princess of the vegetable world (lol). That's why I'm a tomato fufufu~

-Iikubo's eating healthy, that's good. I'm glad Sayu mentioned that, looking at some Alo Hello screencaps has me wondering quite a bit
-Aww 6ki love is still strong
-Sayashi and Ishida comparisons are pretty interesting though iirc cauliflowers wont ever turn green and become a broccoli irl lol
-Maachan, Zukki and Oda are spot on
-Uhhh her descriptions of Fukuhime ... xD and lol Ikuta still being teased everywhere
-Sayu's first impression of Kudou is the same as mine though for completely different reason ... I was afraid she's just a bossy brat, I'm glad she turns out to be such a cute kid ^^
-Are tomatoes vegetables or fruits? I forgot lol

Someone over at 2ch is already making fanarts of it XD

Zucchini should have been Zukki's vegetable, for obvious reasons. *u*

Haha~ That was my first thought as well! I also thought of Kappa!Zukki which would be adorable on so many levels... I want to see an MC with some kind of Kappa!Zukki comedy sketch now >:

^^^ I have been wondering this. Does that woman who interviews the girls understand Japanese?
She sure is nodding like she might. But it could be forced......

Tomato is a vegetable. I've never heard anyone, from here anyways, refer to Tomato as a fruit XD

Tomatoes are fruits in the same way that peanuts are beans — technically true, but not in common usage.

See also botanical versus culinary definitions.

@zam That's interesting since we live in basically the same region lol. What we around here usually consider as vegetables are the roots and leafy bits of a plant so ...

I've always wondered why they even has a host that speak in English (+Japanese voice over) in the first place
It's not like the rest of the show is exclusively geared toward foreign fans or anything ...

Don't they broadcast the original English recording overseas? Like J-Melo does?
Talking about English. The new online-radio Enjoy Network Japan which Sayu will be on starting the 5th is in English. On their blog they said that the host for the Anisong segment had to use English. So I am assuming that it will be the same for the I-dol Hour Hello!Project segment with Sayu.

^ You won't find tomatoes in the fruit section in a supermarket in Malaysia XD
