Generasia says Ambitious sold 47,159. That's almost 10k more than Berryz' best selling single, Jingisukan.

Berryz singles that have sold more than 30k: Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi, Jingisukan, Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance, Seishun Bus Guide / Rival, Danna-sama / Ryuusei Boy, Otakebi Boy WAO! / Tomodachi, cha cha SING. "Cool, sexy" Berryz doesn't exactly set the charts on fire.

Why are there two Miki Fujimoto's on the MM cover? And, why is Aika there but not Eri?

Maybe what Berryz should do is steal a page from the Up Up Girls playbook and have two subgroups:

Sexy Berryz: Yurina, Risako, Chinami, and Maasa
Cute Berryz: Captain, Momoko and Miyabi.

Agreed, and I'd also take Yurina. She's too gentle, calm and cute for sexy Berryz, I think. Maasa, Risako and Miya would fit sexy Berryz.

Or... Berryz could stick to Berryz-like songs, of course

If Tsunku wants a cool-sexy group so much I don't know why he doesn't creat a Berikyuu sub-unit for that, because lol at a current H!P sexy group without Maimi. Alternatively, °C-ute is already good enough at cool-sexy.

The only reason I divided it 4/3 for sexy and cute is because I was using Up Up Girls Sexy/Up Up Girls Pixie as a guide (although it's ironic that Minami does a swimsuit spread and then doesn't make Up Up Girls Sexy).

We could also go with:

Tart Berrys: Massa, Risako, & Miyabi
Sweet Berrys: Captain, Momoko, Chinami, & Yulina

Or maybe put Captain in with Tart since they would probably have a rap in their song.

What a disappointment this song is! It's such generic MM album/b-side material. Certainly not 30th single BK worthy.

Like others have said, from the short preview, it builds right at the beginning but that's the best it gets and stays flat for the entire preview. Berryz has good singers like Risako/Miya/Momo - they definitely don't need any electronic vocal effects to make them sound good (unlike current MM). Here's to hoping the rest of the song miraculously picks up and saves the song.

I'm not surprised people are saying this is boring, garbage, blah, blah whatever cause I like this, by far their best single this year. Hopefully there's an awesome PV for it.
