Oh I'm told that the Sugar Rush is a big part of the film however I'm also told the song is played a grand total of three times, once for a few seconds when Ralph enters the level, again in the background behind dialogue during a kart race and lastly during the ending credits. The ending credits it the only time that the whole song (including the part in Japanese) are played.
I never said it wasn't a big deal I'm just saying it isn't a big deal outside of Japan. Outside of indie films having your song in a film isn't a guarantee that the song will be a hit. In a Tarantino film he uses the music as set pieces to drive the plot so that's why people go out and buy the song afterwards in all other films it's just background music. Plus AKB48 aren't the only
famous people to contribute songs.
