And even though she's still not the best singer you clearly hear the improvement if you listen to earliest songs and the most recent songs back to back. All the extra vocal lessons that she had to take did pay off, her voice has become much more stable.

I must have missed your reply.

That's her natural voice? I find that hard to believe though it could be possible of course, but she's 18 (according to wiki). Think about it for a second, where do you hear 18 year old girls sound like that? It sounds forced and it's so annoying

It's funny you actually mention that, I watched a lot of s/mileage songs yesterday, new and old, then I came across their newest song. She definitely improved and got better, yeah.

No offense intended, btw. Different opinions and all that brah.

No offense taken, at least you see what I mean :D

@RgpN your opinion is invalid because you like Sayumi and the reasons you provide are delusional.

Besides DAWA works hard, leave DAWA alone shes flawless.

One problem current S/mileage is a lack of variation in their singles, so this single breaks the continue happy single streak since Yume Miru 15.
Its not really mature, but the single is about girls wanting to become more mature ironically.

.

What now ?
Then again i don't really have anything against dawa either when it comes to smilage anyway, it's just more the general type of the songs that never really caught my attention. But seriously, liking sayu (and worshipping the ground she stepped on :fear: ) doesn't make anyone's opinion invalid on any other idol's vocals lol. It's not like anyone could possibly think sayu is a great singer when she herself has said so many times she sucked at it :P

This answer might be a bit simple... Japan.

And not just because Japanese girls tend to have a younger physique for their age then in the West but also because girls with a voice like Ayacho would not be pop stars in other countries.

I've been listening to S/mileage extensively since they started and she's always been like this, I'm used to her voice and don't find it unpleasant. I just notice the improvement, I actually thinks she sounds much more mature in this single. But that's might also be because Mei's voice is still very childish, especially in the live version.

Delusional? And because I like Sayumi? lol. Just because I like Sayumi, doesn't mean I think her voice is flawless, and at least she doesn't sound like a 6 years old. I like her for her personality and looks. Even though her (distinctive) voice gets better and works well with Mizuki, it is good that she doesn't get to sing often!

I'm not trying to attack even though I sound very harsh, I'm just really bothered. She obviously isn't flawless, that video you posted was hard to keep up with. It shows exactly what I'm talking about. It's good that you care about her and feel she's really trying with the way she's struggling in her training lessons.

And I'm not really talking about the lyrics (that you're right about), just the style of the song with how serious it all is. It sure ain't a happy song.

@Menno
I was comparing her by Japanese standard as well, I don't hear many Japanese girls still sounding like that unless they're forcing it. But hey, it's totally possible. I'm not going to argue against that anymore, if you say that's her natural voice, then it is (you know better being a more dedicated fan).

And I agree about Meimi sounding more childish, it was annoying too. Her voice is not very stable at the moment but it shows promise. It seems like she could possibly control her voice in the future and she could have more range. I'm surprised how pretty good Rina sounds, they should give her more lines in the future. She totally surprised me. I've noticed Akari's voice being pretty decent for a while too, she can also get good. Not sure what to think of Kana's voice, it seemed typical and not really good either. It seemed barely average (but I don't listen to her voice a lot so I can't be sure).

Anyways, sorry if I came over as rumbling or attacking.

Basically the song is about a young girl that yearns for love as she hits a youthful rebellious age.
So the girls are acting out girls that want to be loved.

Its not a happy, sexy or sad song. Its a song about growing up.

You have difficulties reading it seems. I'm not talking about the lyrics, just how the song 'sounds' and how it comes over. If we're going to be specific, of course it's not sexy or sad. But it is part of yume miru 15 etc. that are considered the more cool/mature/upbeat songs.

No I do not have issues with my reading. You just have difficulty expressing yourself in written form.

Its not supposed to be mature or adult-like, but more of an attempt to become mature. There's a difference.

Dawa has a good vocal range and control over her voice than most HP members do right now. She doesn't sound like a 6 year old because most girls her age still sound like that.

Dawa is only 18, the age people become recognised as adults is when they're 20.
