I think Sayu will be around for a year or two. But Reina could definitely be in until her late 20s. She still looks and acts (sometimes) like a 18 year old and being the ace she is, I could see her be in for quite a few more years. Unless she wants to go and such of course.

Though, I agree. I doubt we'll get a 17 year old, but maybe a girl 15-going-16 will make it at least. A girl with a cool attitude would be neat, no matter the age. Right now we have a bunch of beauty-cuties and a tomboy. Someone cool would be neat. Erina is close, and Riho as well, but so far I'd say they're both falling in the cute category.

Does anyone think this might be the last audition for a while? With 11th gen that's three auditions within what, two years? If we think that four will be the upper limit then MM will be between anywhere from 11-14 members. And after Sayu and Reina graduate 9-12. If he only adds one or two this time around I could foresee a 12th gen fairly soon but if he adds four MM will still be at 12. Then MM will either be in a position of rapid-fire graduations with short tenures so that they can continue having auditions or we'll have 5th and 6th gen all over again with outrageously long tenures and little or no auditions.'


And I hope that Tsunku adds some older girls too. I honestly think the audition is only open to 10+ so that they can add more members to the Eggs/Kenshuusei/Whatever. Plus, with Aika gone the only person bridging the younger girls to Sayu/Reina is Haruna. I think ideally we'd have 14/15/16 year olds.

I really dont understand why we need to stick a girl in between reina and haruna, who would prolly be graduated out before you even get used to them being there.

It's more of a business strategy than "believing" in them. The girls are a bit too young to be seen on Variety Shows and such. We always had older girls for that and soon there won't be any. Basically I want Momusu everywhere, and you need older girls to do that.

No one wants to put in girls who are between Reina and Haruna... isn't that like past the age limit? Unless you know... it's Kikka or Mano then I won't say no. I'm saying older girls within the limits they want to put on (in this case, 17).

Nobody is going to put a 12 year old on a variety show, and on the rare chance that they toss a 15 year old on a panel - it's the typical silence and "suki na tabemono wa..." snore fest.

Current MM lacks that sparkle that we had with Mari and Kago, and I'm HONESTLY dreading 11th gen - I feel like it's too soon. I've just now mastered 9th gens personalities and they're FINALLY coming into their own voices that aren't typical kiddy screech (OK, maybe Riho is still a little screechy) - and I'm even liking ERINA lately. I think her voice is getting much better, she reminds me a lot of Risa I think she'll grow up and be a real asset.

And to think...I really hated her like a month ago haha

Agreed. I'm pretty sure there's a fairly strict child-labor law in Japan that says anyone under 18 can't work past x-hour a day. It won't be as hard to get the girls on variety shows that are taped on a saturday afternoon but there's no way that they can get on a live segment that runs late into the night.

Plus, Haruna seems to be working the sexy-idol angle if JKM is any indication but that's a role that the rest of 9th and 10th gen won't be able to fill for a couple of years. Haruna needs some cohorts so that they can be the barely-legal sexiness of MM.

This new Morning Musume doesn't appeal to me anymore....sadly. Theres too much young Girls....fortunately there are Berikyu at least.
