I don't mean to dump on the Kikka love because I love her too, but it's possible that she was accepted for the 8th Gen but declined when she heard what the schedule would be like. I don't think it's a coincidence that her major debut came at about the same time she graduated from high school.

Kikka cried and commented how frustrating the business was when she came second, once she was an egg her schedule was lighter naturally, also in her solo dvd there's an interview where she says that she wasn't ready
