I don't think the song and everything is that bad. The main problem for me is that it’s the debut single for the 10th generation and the first single without Ai. They needed this single to be great, and it's just okay.

I was looking forward to seeing what 10th gen was capable of and how they'd do without Ai and then they crapped out this thing. So far, it really doesn't even seem to feature 10th gen that much. Having them just fade into the background for their first single doesn't bode well.

Honestly I truly love the song.
It might not be my usual "emo","mature" sound I like but I love it just as much.
I like it better than I liked Maji de... On the first listen and now I love Maji de.. Lol

And yeah if you dont like it then you don't like it. Nothing wrong with that.

the only b-sides i ever listen to on my own are the ones that become some of my favorite songs. i think in terms of concerts.. would i enjoy this during a concert. probably! depends on during what part in the setlist they use it, and what outfits they use. but would i look at a setlist and go YES!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THAT PERFORMANCE, no.

so it's an enjoyable song, but not an outstanding song. same way i felt about Kono Chikyuu / Kare to Issho, tbh. i much preferred Jishin Motte on that single.

^ First time I read someone agreeing with me that Kono/Kare was a bland single. I feel like it gets a free pass for being Aichan's last single.

Kono/Kare wasn't amazing, but it was a lot better than Only You and Maji which were completely phoned in.

Morning Musume has had worse singles recently IMO.
I much prefer this to Only You, for example.

So..listening to this more i really like the song (but it would have been extremely perfect for S/mileage...) my brain still won't put this song and musume together...

i on the other hand really enjoyed Only you.
and although Maji Desu ka Suka isn't my favorite, i find it way more catchy/memorable than either Kono Chikyuu or Kare to Issho are. although both of those songs have had their moments for me (as in times when they were stuck in my head or i would sing/dance to them), they didn't impress on me enough to make much of an impact overall. it's possible that that's also because i was largely unavailable during the time it was being promoted/released though.
