OKAY SO.

- we get in line around 9:10.. the line was already huge by then. if i had caught the express which had just left as we got to the station, we probably would have been a good deal ahead of where we ended up. >< luckily, pretty much any spot is a good spot in Yomiuri.
- the place was PACKED. i don't know what the capacity is, but every seat was filled and the grassy areas and anywhere people could find to stand were pretty full too.
- while in line we got to see a little of the rehearsal. the stage area is surrounded by bushes, but we got to see a little through the gaps in the leaves. unfortunately the song parts were not in our field of vision when there was a spot we could peek through, so we just heard it and saw them standing/practicing MC's when we did have them in our view.
- we stood in lines for almost 4 hours, between the time of arrival and when we made it inside the venue. getting our seat/area tickets was fairly painless as the lines were long but orderly and moving at a steady pace, but once it got to the handshake tickets that got pretty annoying. the lines were too wide across (about 6 people), so everyone got in try-not-to-let-people-pass-you-and-while-you're-at-it-try-to-pass-other-people-mode, and it got pretty tight and silently-and-slowly combative as we approached the end of the line.
- by the time we got our handshake tickets it was already approaching 1pm, so i didn't have time to go to the goods line. it was a little confusing to figure out, but i heard the ticket system was first-come-first-serve, so i figured we were in the clear when we got our ticket.. turns out that there was "sections," so if you were there earlier you got the sections with seats (A and B i think? but it wasn't assigned seating, just assigned sections). everyone else (i have no idea whether they had to turn people away or just accepted everyone that was in line) got numbers that represented absolutely nothing except "find somewhere to stand" lol.
- Yomiuriland is a nice venue, we take a gondola to get to it from the station. also, the seats are tiered, and even though i was in the grass, it was pretty steeply inclined which means.. I GOT TO SEE!! almost everyone is taller than me, so i'm relegated to bad views unless i'm near the very front. in fact, this may be the best uninterrupted view of an H!P performance since i saw HANGRY & ANGRY in 2009 (i was front row for that). plus, by the end of the event the lights start coming up, so pretty. <3

edit: after watching the stream, i realized i got Aika's appearance wrong. she came in before Momusu's songs, not after, and she introduced them. :3 Sayu is the one that introduced S/mileage. Gaki also mentions that with all the new energy that has come into the group, they definitely don't want to lose to Dream MM!

- the first time i've ever seen wota quiet/not dancing and jumping all over the place: S/mileage's new song. i guess that's what happens on a first-time performance? wota are too busy concentrating on watching it to do anything other than basic "oi!"s here and there.
- i officially love S/mileage's new song. it's so cute! doesn't top 4nin epicness, but it shows they can be a decent group if i accept that my favorite incarnation is soon to be nothing but a short-lived dream. hope the PV is good.
- i was dancing all up in my square foot of grass. i would have moved to where there was more space, but i was afraid i'd fall it was so steep. the girls behind me i think thought it was weird, and the Japanese guy next to me tried once in a while but mostly was too shy. I DON'T CARE, I AM A DANCING QUEEN (not the cross-dressing type).
- my toes were crushed by my shoes for standing on an incline for so long, lol. wasn't too bad though, it went away after a little bit.
- i dunno if this was just poor planning or they didn't anticipate the turnout, but they made an announcement that all the handshake tickets were sold out (i knew people that were planning to get more after the live, since the details stated that they'd be open after). PLUS they ripped our seat ticket (at the perforation, not in a mean way ) as we went for our first handshakes, which makes me think they weren't going to allow us to come back for more. we didn't have time to get back in line anyway (we had limited time before we'd have to leave), but most people got multiple handshake passes so.. it would suck if each person only was allowed to once after all the waiting in line we did for getting those passes.
- there was definitely some disorganization going on in general with the handshake. they did a set up that they later took down, and then we (Bryan & i) got to go through the handshakes early on because we were ushered into a line as we were walking around trying to figure out where to go. Bryan and i were in the BACK, everyone that had gotten there earlier was seated.. yet everyone that was seated was told to stay seated. i don't understand why they weren't the ones to go first for handshakes. o-o
- we didn't get Mo and Su groups for handshakes because they were already out by the time we got to the front of the line. we got Be, Ki & Ma. we thought we'd have time to get back in line, but after realizing how long the line was getting we realized we would only have time for 1 (cuz we had to pick up our Shinkansen tickets before the office closed at 7pm).. so we went with Ma! it was the only one we had that we had originally intended to go to.
- for some reason i didn't go through my usual pre-meeting nerves. i handed them my tickets, and saw Mano-chan at the head of the table waiting for me, i just went "ohisashiburi~! \(^-^)/" (long time no see) and mentioned Anime Expo (but didn't make it a complete sentence lol). then came Riho, i told her i'm a fan of hers (and "ganbatte" why?? no idea), Chisato i told her she has a huge fan in Sweden (hi Sohee sorry i didn't get it out right, but after the confusion of not getting the groups we originally wanted, i forgot who was gonna be in Ma group except for Mano), Maasa i told i'll see her in New Jersey, and Eripon i don't remember what i said to her!! that i love her? i just remember being really surprised cuz i hadn't seen her in person up until RIGHT THEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! i mean, she was in person for the whole event, but i saw her from a distance in which i couldn't make out her features.
- i have video of this handshake too, but you can't see their faces this time. :< only their hands shaking mine. on the plus side, i wasn't pushed along this time. :3 it was still really quick, but i was able to finish my thought before moving on to the next girl at least. i took video of the VTR/MC parts of the drama and Tsunku's first VTR as well.
- since we got through fairly quick, we went to buy goods! pretty much no waiting time, even when we went back later. :3 helps that i can use the girls-only line. bought 10 pin-up posters, got a bunch of the ones i wanted. traded most of the others for other ones i wanted. bought 6 more, in the end the only ones left that i still really want are Nakki & Kanyon (i got Gaki, Sayu, kyuukies, juukies, Airi, Captain, Yuuka & Kanana). also got two for my friend Sepia, she only wanted Ayumi.. i was able to trade for Ayumi with the Masaki one she got. ^-^
- trading was a different experience this time, there was no roped/tented area for trading and there was a lot more girls around (that in general seem to be less extreme than the guys who get like 3 billion copies of each pin-up) that were just looking for certain members, so you'd just wander around and ask people who they had/who they wanted. i actually like this way better, because where as for the hardcore trades it's like LAW that you can only trade MM for other MM and only equally popular members, the girls and guys that were just wanting to do a few trades were more flexible depending on what you had that they want. people also get randomly chatty during this type of trade. it was fun.

anyway, spectacular day! i wish i could talk more about it, but i need to finish packing for Kyoto tomorrow. ><
