THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS from today's Mobekimasu handshake event. :whistling:

First Tokyo event:

- before it started, maybe around 11am, the members came out to rehearse in their two-piece outfits with sweatshirts/hoodies over them. fans watched from a distance (behind the gates to the audience area, which is still pretty close) chanting and everything. they practiced Busu ni Naranai Testugaku, introducing the song(s), then tried performing Suki-chan but the new members (mostly Haruna, Meimi and Zukki? maybe Ayumi, but Haruka was doing fine) couldn't keep up. it was cute and kinda funny, they got lost after less than half of the song and tried looking to each other for help but it just wasn't going to happen, ended in the sempai laughing and then them moving on to practice Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku again before heading back in.
- for the actual event, they performed Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku twice (i guess that was there back-up plan for Suki-chan? lol)
- during their individual introductions, Haruna got the biggest reaction from the girls section (there seemed to be more female Momo fans overall, but Haruna definitely got the highest squeal-to-deep-voice ratio).
- for the MC's, they gave certain girls chances to give their impressions/say a few things, then Take-chan handled a corner in which the new members (which was everyone except Momo and Airi) would ask something of the sempai
- Haruka asked Momo about her hairstyle (the new trademark pigtails).. some discussion about whether it's cute or not?
- AHHH WHY DON'T I REMEMBER WHAT AIRI DID? i remember it being funny ;-;
- Momo messed up on something, but right when she was going to do "yurushite-nyan" Airi totally stopped her lol. except then Momo wanted to finish so she did it again (you could tell Airi was having an internal struggle here lol).
- some of the wota were getting extreme with their jumping (supporting their less popular members passionately, i suppose). one Rinapuu??/Takechan?? fan tried to climb the PLASTIC gates surrounding the girl area (to make himself seen while she was talking), when he did so the guy behind him pushed him cuz he was in the way/being annoying. he ended up flipping over and slamming into a few of the girls. there was a confrontation between him and the guy that pushed him, but somebody intervened before it turned into a fight.
- that was weird, but the rest was perfectly civil if a bit more intense than what i'm used to.
- handshakes were in this order: Momo, Mizuki, Zukki, Haruka, Ayumi, Haruna, Takechan, Rinapuu, Meimi & Airi (for the first two events, i assume for the third as well but i wasn't present for that one)

Second Tokyo event:

- Momo came out in the maid outfit and explained it being because of Halloween and it providing fanservice lol. she performed in this outfit the first song, but changed back into the two-piece outfit at the MC.
- Haruka was very professional and just smiled instead getting nervous/reacting when the whole front row of the girl's section started waving at her. she was straight ahead of us and almost eye-level considering her height lol.
- Juukies have this dance down pat. Airi took center (obviously), Momo took second lead (of course), but Ayumi and Mizuki got some center-ish dance parts, and the S/mileage members + Zukki and Mizuki got to take over some of the verse lines! Haruka didn't get much center, but she was dead front most of the time so i saw a lot of her (in fact i mostly followed her to dance along with, as Airi was all over the place and sometimes out of my field of vision).
- some of the kouhai members had more courage to try to liven up their MC parts for the second event, particularly Haruna and Meimei.
- Meimi livened up her intro by demonstrating a move from Mobekimasu's song that she wanted everyone to dance along to! she did something similar for her closing remarks, saying something about "those who did the move and also those who forgot to"
- during the ask/request from sempai segment, Haruna asked Momo to let her experience Koyubiimu and MomoAttack first-hand! Momo taught Haruna how to react properly to being hit by MomoAttack, which involves falling dramatically/idol-y. Haruna obliged.
- Takechan did a pantomime of hitting a home run, challenged/requested Airi to do the same. Airi did a golf version!
- Kanon insisted on getting her turn (after not getting picked despite flailing and jumping about), it turned into a live across-the-stage version of the BUTTERFLY MONOMANE. originally she wanted one of the sempai to do monomane, but they turned it on her. she patched that up by imitating Momo's "yurushite-nyan"~

- for the handshake, they all (or most of them?) came out with cute halloween headpieces! Meimi had a purple witch hat, Airi had antennae (possibly from WOWOW YEAHYEAH? i'll have to look closely), etc etc.
- the second event was taped for Pon! and HelloPro TIME. cameras were still there for the third event (might have been there for the first one too) but this is the only one in which they mentioned the cameras, and also the only time they took video/photos of the Mobekimasu Tokyo group in front of the audience.

Third Tokyo event:

and some personal comments..

- HARUNA IS GORGEOUS IN PERSON. not that i didn't think she was cute anyway, but damn. big difference from her photos.
- Fuku-chan too, but she's got some serious wallflower stuff going on. she's so pretty but needs to stand out more! someone send her some bottled confidence, maybe (non-alcoholic). when asked to give her try at monomane, she just kinda a went "no, i think i'm good." ^^;
- HARUKA IS SO TINY, LIKE SRSLY. that little girl in the playground when you pass by a primary school? could be Haruka.
- Momo took over MC's, but considering her and Airi were the only members who have been debuted in H!P more than a year in this batch of members, it seemed okay. lol. Airi was funny in her moments, but talked less overall.
- Airi does a lot of funny things even when the focus is not on her. loved watching her for this reason.

also i'm pretty sure she saw me a few times (i was making faces, funny gestures, throwing hearts, etc. all in her direction), but because of the professionalism thing there was no reaction other than a smile-to-yourself kind of thing lol.
- i look forward to seeing/hearing about the way the Mobekimasu song was partitioned among members at other regions! did all of them perform?
- i don't know how many times we heard Busu ni Naranai Testugaku today.. twice per event, so six times performed, plus the two during rehearsal, plus an ENDLESS AMOUNT that they looped on speakers while people were allowed in to find their place in front of the stage. yet, i still freaking love this song. :lol:

- handshakes started off at a nice pace, but got quicker/rougher with time. i assume this is the usual. Momo, Airi, Haruka, and Zukki were the most attentive, though that may have had something to do with the fact that i managed to give longer statements to them.
- i'm pretty sure i was the only foreign(-looking) girl there, so i think a lot of them remembered me lol. not necessarily what i would have chosen considering i completely blanked/was thrown off by the pace on my first go so i just said stupid things, on the second go i did better but couldn't manage to say anything other than "arigatou" to S/mileage and got stuck on words to 10th gen, and the 3rd time around was again better but i missed a lot of the new things that i had come up with to say to them
- however, it was very helpful when it came to Airi :love:

...the first time i spazzed so much that all i managed was to jump around giddily just saying "Airi! Airi! Airi!" (i had planned to tell her to come to America, but by the time i composed myself my turn was over). the second time, i did tell her i'd like a live in America.. for some reason, i was holding my cheeks while i spoke to her, she did the same thing back while saying yes, she'd like to try.

the final time, i just thanked her for a very fun day, on my way out i did a heart symbol and said "ハート," which she returned!! :dies: :love:

she did it like she had anticipated it/was ready for it, so i actually wonder whether she saw some of my hearts to her during the event and recognized the chance to return them.

yeah, i teared up after this last encounter.. i've never met her before, and she's the only one of my current top 5 that i have yet to meet so i was absolutely frantic and overwhelmed by the happiness i got out of such a memorable (if brief) interaction.
- i also managed to pinky-shake instead of hand-shake with Momo (also told her SakuraCon was a lot of fun), and wished happy birthdays to the appropriate girls (at least i hope, it was hard to keep track because i didn't do it all in one go.. the first time i only un-blanked in time to tell one girl), and told Haruka i wanted her to become center and Ayumi that i'd like to see a dance battle (unfortunately my words came out so slow that i didn't get to finish to clarify WITH RIHO).
- this event confirmed to me that i really really like Haruka. she stood out as a great performer, made her mark in MC's (she's the one who suggested Kanon monomane Momoko), and didn't let not having center positions/solo vocals push her into the shadows.
- i did get video of my last round at handshake. :fear:

BUT FOR A GOOD CAUSE, i was just thinking a lot lately that we haven't gotten a lot of video footage to use for our blog's supposed weekly videos, and while footage of fans is more acceptable, it's also boring for putting together something that's supposed to capture our exciting lives in Japan.

we haven't gone much elsewhere, and every time i go out with Rina i forget to do anything but have fun lol. anyway, it doesn't show my personal interactions so much as the girl in front of me who pretty much just shook hands and said thank you to everyone. guess she's not weird like me. :lol:

- i didn't, however, get many pictures. :< i have photos of fans idling around, but how much do people really care about that? during the event taking video is easier, cuz it doesn't need me to be pressing a button and pointing it for each shot, i just put it away and hope it gets a decent angle rather than the inside of my purse.

anyway, i'll put the video up if you guys promise not to voodoo me. x3

i write terribly unorganized and messy notes/reports. sorry. no one is obligated to read it, i just know some people like getting info/observations! 許して〜にゃん! no? ゴメンナサイ!

you can (very quickly) see Haruka, Ayumi, Haruna, Take-chan, Rinapuu (sort of?), Meimi and Airi. can't see Momo, Fuku-chan and Zukki at the beginning, i guess because i hadn't straightened out completely at that point.

really brief, but alas, that reflects the reality of these types of events. i think i understand why people get so many tickets, it's not so much about seeing them over and over as it is about getting a window of opportunity at a meaningful/memorable interaction (so you need plenty of these windows, considering they only last like 3 seconds). i honestly wouldn't recommend any less than 2 handshakes per event, unless you're only interested in being able to say you've met so-and-so member. or are only going for the heck of it lol.

you can also see very quickly at the beginning how the staff aren't as pushy with the girl line. they still usher you to move quickly, but i never got shoved like i heard from some of the guys. heck, i even witnessed one staff guy who leaned over two other staff members to keep shoving the same person.

also, picture of the rehearsal from an H!P friend i hung out with at the event..

not that detailed, but still.
