Hear me out UF, please start making live studio performances for H!P to promote their new songs on youtube. They barely perform on TV anymore (not everyone can see their performances), so why not do something on youtube. They can't always rely on music videos or live concert footage.

I wouldn’t mind them bringing back the dance practice videos either.

On an aside US seems to really doubling down on yeeting TikTok. I only have it to watch the UF videos. I’d really like more use of Instagram and YouTube shorts instead. You can post the same thing to more than one platform but it seems they don’t want to do that? Which seems stupid to me.

ME:I also has a budget the size of Canada (where that budget came from, I prefer to play ignorant on) compared to Up-Front who has a music budget the size of Michigan. While they aren't hurting for cash, they have their hands in a lot of pots and Music just happens to be one of them. ME:I's company can pay to get them on to all the big shows. Up-Front just can't shell that kind of money out anymore with the amount of groups they are juggling. They are doing what they can, but it's obvious they need someone in the company that can work the free-market a little better than the way they are playing it.

You're not wrong. UF are leaving money on the table by not just reposting all their TikTok content to YT shorts. My go to example: The fan created YT channel @ReinaChannel017 has over 70K subscribers and just straight scrapes content from other services, no commentary, no translation. The home office could do this themselves with 3 minutes a day's worth of effort. Here's one from just a couple of weeks ago that's already amassed half a million views.

The channel's top video is this one from 2022 with 2.8 million views with former race queen/gravure idol Suzuki Fumina:

You'd think that okay maybe it's Fumina driving views, but the 500+ comments are almost all gushing over Reina. Somebody at UF is asleep at the wheel to allow that level of social engagement go to just some rando on YouTube.

The M-line music channel does regularly put up Youtube shorts.
When it comes to OG Youtube channels Fujimoto Miki also posts quite a lot them.

I personally would like them to be more active on Threads.
A number of OG's make good use of it (Katsuta Rina for example)
Especially now that almost every quote or reply to a post on Twitter is a pornbot or cryptoscam.
Former UUG(2) Nakagawa Chihiro has basically made it her primary social media account.

EDIT: Huh, just checked. Even the H!S channel has shorts.
This one has 2.1 million views.

Goes to show how I don't consume any kind of this shortform content to not even have noticed it exists.
The only time I ever see a TikTok is when someone puts it in a Tweet.

EDIT 2: Rereading that last sentence gave me "what the hell am I doing with my life" vibes. :giggle:

UF plays the long game. They are thinking 5 - 10 years from now. H!P is mostly concerned about their Fanclub rather than the general/worldwide population. If you compare the H!P tour schedule to that of other major Idols, H!P visits cities that others do not. Other groups perform in bigger stages(Mostly Tokyo area) but they also only perform a weekend every other month or two. Also, I hadn't even thought about it until it was pointed out how unusual it is for a group to have 2 performances per day. That's just normal in H!P. Also, just think for a couple minutes, how much revenue Hello!Shops would each need to produce monthly to justify having 3 physical stores. H!P's target demo M/F 8 - 70. Life long fans. Toa and Niina will be belting out fakes at the H!P 35th anniversary concert.

I'm missing The Girls Live for those studio live performances. Like, how long again did it take Tsubaki Factory to do Demo Ii Yo live? I feel like in the era of TGL they did all the upcoming/recent songs live. I got a lot of hype back when Kobushi Factory did Nen ni wa Nen on TGL and somebody posted a 60fps version on YT.
They could just fold a studio live segment in to one of the YouTube shows they run then if a clip gets a lot of rewatches then snip it out and post it on its own on the related channel like they did with Power Flower. I bet it would be well-liked.

So I rememberd my train of thought on why I recognize Omizu, Saori, and Mao as TF's 2nd gen (y'know besides not being in the group for 16 month of their indie period or the 3 singles and 1 album) and it was this event featuring 2nd gen members including Mao and some Beyoooonds members. If that's not enough I don't know what could be, heck I'm even replying to the post like, ah, I guess they are 2ki.
