^ I can never get enough of Risamaru. What can I say, she just gives me those "good trouble" vibes. And let's not overlook how flat-out gorgeous Ishiyama looks. Her hair game rivals anybody in H!P past or present. Honorable mention to Kudo for dropping her usual "deer in the headlights" expression and just letting her performance speak for itself. She's this year's H!P Survivor Golden Coconut Winner, so she can relax a bit, I guess. Anyway...

Hello! Ryuugaku Channel ~Study Abroad~

This is Saki Nakajima :)

In New Zealand, various flowers start blooming one after another, and it's spring! A new season! It's the best season ever! I feel it every day.

Today I went for a walk before the sun came up.
It was so cold though :hehe: lol

I still have a long way to go in English.
I will face it step by step at my own pace.

When I was editing this video
I realized how much I pamper and love myself.

It's ok.
It's important to realize that I'm able to grow :thumbs-up:

I keep telling myself that  :innocent:

See you in the next video: :) :flowers: :flowers: :flowers:

She spends a little bit of time discussing "did" as an auxiliary verb vs. as the main verb. That is, the difference in English between saying, "I did my homework" vs. "I *did* do my homework."

^ I haven't been keeping up with all this stuff, but since a number of H!P girls have gone to New Zealand to study English, have there been any videos where any of them are speaking with a full-on Kiwi accent? Because that would be awesome.

I was just looking at an old "Wota in Translation" post about different types of English accents and one comment in particular cracked me up: "Guys, let’s all watch movies like Trainspotting and Snatch and learn how to speak English!" XD

Unfortunately (for us) I think the only girl we've heard talk that has proficiency enough to really discern accent is Aika, and she definitely didn't sound Kiwi. I sort of assume that the school teaches a more common English dialect.

Amyway, at one point Moemi says that the song has a kind of princess-y feel to it and she had the image of Jodi Benson or Liz Callaway in mind when she was singing. Jodi Benson is the original animated singing voice of (Ariel The Little Mermaid.) And Liz Callaway performed Odette's singing from the Fox animation Anastasia, as well as Jasmine's singing in some of the Aladdin sequels.

Yes, the non-(North)-American accents seem silly for Japanese to learn, and definitely some of them gravitate to it. I think it's easier for them to throw stuff from different dialects into their everyday speech, so they might think they're kind of doing the same thing. No worries, mate! :smiling: Also some of the sounds are probably easier for them to produce. It's a shame, because Oz and Kiwi Land are not far from Japan, and the time shift is smaller. One awkward thing about living abroad is that when you have a conversation with someone back home they're in a different stage of their day.

The other thing that might be disadvantageous about learning accented English is the greater occurrence of spelling not matching the pronunciation. Nacky says spelling is a big problem for her (while Chiichan is better at it).

I think perhaps that's a problem Nacky would encounter no matter what dialect she learns. Every spoken English is in some kind of accent. Arr enny uh th'm bedder at soundin like Inglish ryding?

This is one of those subjects where I'm preddy shure therz a gud ansor :|
Laik, academics have studied this (in an ownest and compitent wey).

If you listen to Chris Broad speak "American" it comes pretty naturally to him, it's almost like it's the natural speaking voice and the English accent is just an emulation layer that runs over top :hmmm:

In later videos, Chris says that he definitely lost subscribers after that video. It's almost as if people thought he was dishonest, somehow :D

Haha it's pretty funny that people would raise a clamour over such a trivial and perhaps not terribly surprising thing. I mean as evidenced by the relative success of their actors in Hollywood, Brits/Aussies/Kiwis seem on the whole a touch better at putting on a Yank accent than the other way round, probably due to massive media overexposure. Which is a good reason for Nacky to learn Kiwi first, since it'll be dead easy for her to switch to Murkin later on. :hehe:

Hello! Ryuugaku Channel ~Study Abroad~

[Las Vegas] My First Time Attending a Concert Overseas!

Sup guys!
This is Chisaki Morito :flowers:
It's already autumn in Canada and the mornings and evenings are quite cold!

I went to Las Vegas with my friends.
Didn't have much luck there, but it was a memorable trip nonetheless ^ ^

If you look you'll see just how unlucky I was. lol

It was my first time in Las Vegas.
It was a short trip, so I made some rapid-fire decisions on where I wanted to go. OK, let's go! This looks interesting! Let's do it! That was how I made my decisions, lol.

I only got the flight ticket about a week ago lol.

And my main objective was the BLACK PINK concert!
I've never been there before so I'm glad I went! More than anything, I had always wanted to attend an overseas concert while I was abroad, so I'm happy to realize that dream! :sun:
The rules and such were different from Japan, so it felt really fresh! It became a really good ,fun experience!

I hope to attend concerts overseas again!

As always thanks for watching ^ ^
