Hello! Study Abroad Channel 9.11.23

Chii-chan takes a trip to Salt Spring Island


This is a video of my visit to an island called "Salt Spring Island"!

The main goal was to see the lavender fields!
I was in a hurry to get there because the season was almost over, but it was a perfect time to see it! (around mid-July).
The other famous attractions are the Saturday Market and wineries, but unfortunately we went on a Sunday so we didn't get to go to the market.
But the cafes we went to were very nice, and everywhere we went, we were surrounded by nature and it was very pleasant!

At first I was totally ignorant about the island, but my friend told me about this place and we all decided to go. I guess that's what happens when you live as an exchange student. I'm sure it's a common thing in study abroad life, lol.

Lately I've been thinking that the environment can really change you.
I'm surrounded by people who like to travel and have fun! I like it! I've been inspired by the many people around me who like to travel and who are willing to take the plunge, and I'm now in the mindset of going as far as I can while I still can.

That's why these days when people ask me what my hobbies are, I always say traveling lol.

I already have some places on my list of places to go and some already planned lol

If you have any recommendations for places in Canada that you would like me to visit, please let me know!

Here is my translation of Chichan's trip to Salt Spring Island - Bon Appétit!

Chiichan's Salt Spring Island Excursion

Today I'm going on an outing with my friends~ (heart)
I'm going to an Island called Salt Spring.
My friend gave me a cookie (cookie)
It feels like we're on an excursion (heart W)
Looking out from the ferry!
It seems there is a bus, but it's really a small island
so this time we went by a rented car!
Incidentally, the ferry we were planning to catch was cancelled, and we had to wait over an hour (yikes W)
All the more reason it was a good thing that we rented a car, I thought (W)
By the way, cars in Canada have the wheel on the opposite side, and they run on the opposite side of the road.
And so when it comes to driving I'm basically someone who relies on others (melting smile W)

Strong Wind.
The camera made it look like there was a broken-film filter. (?)

About 30 minutes later and we're at our first destination.
Thanks for driving, friend! (cry, heart)

We can eat lunch here (Tree House Cafe)
The jumbo-sized dog is cuuute! (heart)
After entering the waiting list for seats (at the restaurant) we go wander around some shops, you know.
Cute.
So annoying! (English)(a friend teases with a mouse on finger)
It's a sort of mini downtown, where there are many items for sale that would make for good gifts!
We got our seats~
The menu is overflowing with choices.
It appeared again (mouse W)
This restaurant is surrounded by trees, which created created a really nice atmosphere!
It came~~
We all got burgers W
It looks so good! (heart)

Continuing on we have this ...
lavender fields
The journey's #1 aim was this W
There are many products that use lavender
The shop's atmosphere was also nice
Here was have lavender honey, lavender syrup,
lavender black teas and the like.
This is jam!
It was all things that I began to desire~

Close by the shop are the fields of lavender (lavender)
Having a good hard stare at this much lavender was a first W
Pretty wild eh?

I also took a cheki, you know (lavender)
I bought it because I thought it would be good for making travel memories, however, I'm absolutely crazy about the thing (heart)
My friend also takes Poloroids !!!
It has become a fad in our group W

The sound of bees was quite something (bee)
I managed to take photos with the lavender.
Continuing on we have~ this

We came to a cheese shop.
There were all kinds of cheeses.
You can do a tasting as well, so I recommend it!
I came looking forward to goat milk gelato.
I'm sorry to say that I couldn't eat any (sad eyes) (were they out?)
But I wanted to eat ice cream so I ordered vanilla.
I got vanilla ice cream (ice cream)
The weather was great (sun).
Wherever I go there's a lot of nature, and it feels great (tree)
This is a lake.
I did see fish here, but they disappeared just now.

By the way, for 10 minutes only, I drove the car W
I'm not used to it, so after that I left all of it up to my friend W
On the way back once again we board a ferry by car~
Clouds~ I don't know what to call them but they were impressive.
A drink was purchased at the old familiar Tim Hortons.

I arrived home safe and sound ~
I found the moon (moon)
We went up to a high spot in order to see the sunset,
except there were too many clouds and we couldn't see it (laugh-cry WW)

And so ends my 1-day mini trip.
I'm glad that I was able to take lots of photos (heart)
