^ JapanFiles edition say JapanFiles instead of zetima/etc, but they're official. i guess they just reserve that spot for whoever printed them? they're just other country editions, but still official. i know for sure the Taiwan ones are official, and i think i've heard of the HK ones being official too. i'm not sure about Korean, but it doesn't seem like a stretch to me.

i rely on my trips to Japan to buy the CD's i've been wanting for cheaper. maybe if i could save on the 18% commission

It wouldn't be of much help for the FC items, but www.fromjapan.co.jp has only 5% commission.

Also, in regard to CDs... I for sure would buy them more reliably if I was able to attend the handshakes and such. You'd better bet that I'd have bought the boxsets of Uchouten and Tachia if I could have gone to the 8-shot!

^ thanks for posting about that in the questions thread, i've been using the service since a few days ago. :3 haven't had anything shipped yet, but so far so good! unfortunately, i can't use it for everything cuz there's quite a lot of things that i buy that i can really only get through people that go to concerts, because relying on them to show up (and winning them for a decent price) on YAJ just isn't practical. so i still need to go through people..

i understand where they're coming from, though. for an individual going through all that trouble, plus the time-consumingness of keeping track/organizing orders and communicating with everyone, and often taking trips to post offices, and having to make sure things don't get damaged on transit.. honestly, i'm surprised they don't charge more (but i'm glad they don't lol).

EDIT: More on-topic, Berikyuu's appearance on Sakigake Eight today was really entertaining! :3 A good watch for any Beri and/or Kyuu fans~ They did an H!P song intro game. Nakky got all "no u don't bitch" on Momo.

There are some dodgy Taiwanese H!P releases out there, however. I have a few of them from my early days in H!P collecting. They're pretty easy to spot, though. If you have a Taiwanese issue on a recognizable label with actual copyright information (for example: "℗&©2003 zetima inc. Manufactured and printed in Taiwan. Distributed by Universal Music Taiwan."), then it's legit. If it doesn't have a proper copyright statement and is on some unfamiliar label like Ho Son or Ki Ten, then it's not an official release. I think you're pretty safe from pirated H!P stuff if you buy from someplace like YesAsia, not so much if you're buying from a shop or stall in your local Chinatown.
