I've been very pleasantly surprised by some of the music — blasts from the past — that I've been hearing out in the wild this week. Today at Half Price Books I heard "Here's Where the Story Ends" by the Sundays, and when I was shopping at Trader Joe's a few days ago, Sweet's "Love Is Like Oxygen" was playing. Not the single version, but the full 6:57 album version!
And at McDonald's today, what should I hear on "McDonald's Radio" but "And Dream of Sheep" by Kate Bush! I know that Kate has had a resurgence recently, thanks to Stranger Things, but this was a lesser-known album track, not "Running Up That Hill" or some other single. I don't think I've ever heard anyone play this song (or any of the other songs from Side 2 of Hounds of Love), unless they were playing that whole album. I'm not counting the time I saw Baby Bushka, the Kate Bush tribute band, in concert. They know how to dish up the deep cuts!
