shocking. shootings in Japan are very rare. I'm surprised someone got that close to him, in Nara of all places. Abe is a nice guy too.

This isn't the US where thousands of people get shot every year. This is the country with the strictest gun laws on the planet, and least amount of violent crime.
The safest place you could imagine walking the street. Now one ex soldier with a grievance and a homemade shotgun is going to have an enormous impact that will resonate for years.

Not only that but you can literally see the whole thing from speech to shot to taking him down by security & police from multiple angles online.

I assume a number of people here use the H!O picboard (still the best all-round image resource, nothing is as comprehensive) and may be lamenting it's lack of tags for new members (basically anyone added past 2019). There may be a solution in the works.

I've made contact with the owner and he will try to see what the issue is. If this can be resolved, I'll do what I can to tag older photos for the missing members.

A number of tags of newer members have been added it seems. Work in progress. For example: Matsumoto Wakana didn't have one a few hours ago and now she does.

Just back from an evening walk and guess what ..

Then I saw two more but they were too far away. They were very smart ones because I saw them crossing the street in a crosswalk with the green light. When I got to the corner they were half a block away ... this is zoomed of one on the side walk


Scary House Update (no change)

I’m happy my new school is a Mac school. We all got a MacBook Air to use as our work computer. Now I can pretty much just leave that at school and use my own MacBook at home and not carry around anything for my commute. But also it’s obviously a much better device than whatever chromebook type thing my old school let us borrow that I never used, and I also have an iPhone so everything is synced up.
