I applied to see if I could finance a smartphone for my mom. I can't because of unpaid medical debt, but I did find out today that my credit score is 517!
Which by today's standards is poor, but it's way higher than I thought it was.

I applied and got approved for a credit card, so at least I'll be able to help build it up.

I was able to pay off 4 medical bills today! I still have some I want to try to negotiate, but at least those 4 are off my back now.
I was unaware of two of them; they were from 2015 when I had my clots. Apparently even though that hospital accepted the insurance I had, they didn't actually accept payments from the insurance. Which is confusing!
And then there was one from 2017 when I was in Mississippi. After that hospital threatened a lawsuit, I finally got them to sort out my insurance and thought it was a done deal cause I never got anymore mail from them.

It's good that you're in a position now where you can start to sortthose bills out and build up a credit rating!

I always tend to miss the Armenian food festivals around here, but fortunately one of my co-workers told me that one was happening this weekend, so I headed over to San Francisco today and dropped a good chunk of money on what I consider comfort food. I had a large dinner plate with shish kebab, luleh kebab (made with ground lamb), pilaf, salad, and bread, plus an assortment of add-ons. The kebabs were good; the pilaf, sarma (stuffed grape leaves), and eetch (bulgur wheat salad) were all very good; and the soubeoreg (pasta layered with butter and cheese) was awesome. And there was Kotayk beer from Armenia to wash it down.

They also had a variety of foods available for take-out, so I grabbed a dozen frozen lahmajoun (Armenian pizza, one of my favorites) and a pound of frozen manti (Armenian ravioli, which I haven't eaten in ages).

My earliest memory of preparing food actually involves manti. I was about five years old and helping my mother and grandmother make some in preparation for my uncle's visit. It's very labor-intensive, so we rarely had the opportunity to eat it.

I wish we had Sasoun Bakery up here in the Bay Area. I ate a good amount of their excellent $1 lahmajoun when I was in Glendale and Little Armenia back in 2015. I bought an extra dozen to bring home with me, but they didn't make it any further than LAX. XD The ones I bought today weren't much more expensive ($8.50 for a half dozen), but the ones they have at Turkish restaurants around here are very pricey: $5.75 or more each.

I'll have to go there - the Glendale location is pretty close, and everything they've got looks good!

I received an all-in-one PC yesterday. Since Windows 7 is basically extinct, I had to upgrade to a Windows 10. It's an Acer Aspire C 24. The thing is almost the size of my TV!
I was trying to play Sims 4 on my old computer, and because I downloaded some expansion packs, it told me I didn't have enough RAM to play. :mikihead:
My old computer is an eMachines EL1358G-51w. It has 3GB of RAM, so I tried to find extra for it and didn't really have much luck.
Though now my search actually yields results for it (of course!), it's been a hot minute since my dad cracked open a CPU.

So far it's fine, though I wish I could get rid of all the XBOX nonsense... I don't even own one! We won't talk about Microsoft Edge either, lol.
I moved some personal stuff over from the old one, but I'll have to double-check it later before I do the factory reset.
I already told my dad he could have it. He has a similar eMachines but it's way slower than mine. I think it's cause he clicks crap online without thinking about it...

Anyway, it already has 1TB of storage, but I have a 450GB external drive and a 1TB external drive hooked up to it.
