No, it's not serious. It's a very old joke: if you don't understand something and you want to ask a question, but you don't want to admit that you don't understand, then you pretend you're asking on behalf of your "friend". Of course everyone knows there isn't really a friend, but they play along anyhow because the joke is so old that it's become an idiom.
In this case, I didn't understand what weakness Yuhane needed to overcome. The way the original tweet was set up, and the way Amped phrased his description of it, it seemed like we should all know. But I didn't. My guess was that it's a callback to Yuhane's fear of cats and the OMAKE video in which she held Kanazawa's cat…
