Well then hey, you yourself have only three degrees of separation from Critical Role, 'cuz Dwarven Forge is a frequent sponsor.

A Game of Thrones prediction…

Spoiler: show
In the aftermath of the battle against the Night King, probably in the fourth episode of this season, something will happen that will cause Daenerys to call for the execution of Sansa. I'm thinking Daenerys will try to commandeer all of the remaining troops and supplies in the North in order to march south and dethrone Cersei. Sansa will refuse, of course, because her loyalty is to the North and they still need to survive the winter (even a shortened winter, assuming it is somehow linked to the White Walkers).

There will be a conflict within Winterfell, with many of the surviving characters taking sides. Arya, Brienne, Podrick, Jaime, Theon (if he arrives in time), the Hound (maybe), Sam, Lyanna Mormont (representing the North), and Bronze Yohn (representing the Vale) will all defend Sansa. Jorah will be reluctant to fight Sam and Lyanna, but he is devoted to Daenerys and will follow her orders. Tyrion will be reluctant to fight Jaime and Podrick, and he will also advise Daenerys against angering or betraying the North, which will draw her wrath upon him as well. Perhaps she will cut out his tongue, as has been long predicted (i.e., Jaime lost his sword hand, Cersei lost her children…). Jon, Davos, and maybe Varys will do their best to defuse the situation and end the conflict peacefully, but they will fail.

The conflict will escalate until Daenerys goes mad, mounts her last surviving dragon (probably Drogon, but maybe not), and begins to destroy the castle and everyone in it. Yes, including the smallfolk refugees who packed into it over the first two episodes of the season. At that point, Jon will realize that Daenerys and her dragons are the mirror image of the Night King and his wights, in that they are both absolutely destructive to the people of Westeros. Jon will kill Daenerys, stopping her madness and fulfilling the prophecy of Azor Ahai.

The "Ice and Fire" in "A Song of Ice and Fire" has two different levels of meaning. The internal/metaphorical meaning is the human struggle within Jon between Stark and Targaryen, between love and duty. The external/literal meaning is the superhuman struggle between the White Walkers and the Targaryens, with Westeros caught in between. The idea that Daenerys is just another faction in the war for the Iron Throne has been a fake-out from the beginning.

Game of Thrones S08E02 (21 Apr 2019)

A look back…

…and a look ahead…

…and until then, a musical interlude…

It was everything I wanted in a "this is our last time together before the end" episode.

The reviews of Avengers: Endgame have been dropping yesterday and today, and they are very, very positive.

SPOILERS:
Spoiler: show
I thought it was good overall, not great. I put it in the middle of the pack in terms of the MCU universe. A bit of a bias on my part because I'm not really a big fan of the Tony Stark character, and this was his victory lap film. Downey was good here, I just don't care so much for the role in general. Aside from that, there were a couple of minor things that happened that didn't make sense to me:

1) We were told that Gamora's sacrifice was permanent, that there was no way to get her back. But somehow they were still able to get the 2012 Gamora and bring her into the present, circumventing her death. I have no problem with that, but why couldn't and wouldn't they do the exact same thing with Black Widow, go back in time to a moment before she died and bring her back? For that matter, do the same thing with anybody who died in the past?

2) We were clearly told that going into the past would not change the present (outside of explicitly bringing things/people back from the past). Yet, Captain America went into the past and stayed, and continued to live in our timeline into the present as an old man. How could that be? That means that he went into the past, saved Agent Carter, married her, they lived a life together and created artifacts that would've persisted into the present day. Even if she eventually died, her tombstone would now read differently than it would've read had he not returned to 1940. When he went into the past it should have created an alternate timeline and he should've completely disappeared from our timeline.

3) Not a complaint, but I wish Thor had gotten back into fighting shape in near real time, like Mugiwara no Luffy after he eats a ton of crap.

4) This might technically count as a spoiler but not really, and it would've saved me a few minutes of my life had I known it:

(NON-SPOILER SPOILER)
Spoiler: show
There's no post-credit scene, so no need to wait around for one, unless you are 6 years old like me and really like perusing the credits for unusual names like RAPEEPORN to pop out.

5) Also this popped up, it definitely has spoilers. I'm not so much a fan of these guys these days but anyway...

^ I haven't seen it yet, because I'm avoiding the maximum-capacity crowds. In a week or two, there will still be enough of a crowd to make it interesting but not so much to make it annoying.

The first episode is now available on Crunchyroll and Hulu. New episodes every Monday until July 1.

Season 2 of One Punch Man is also available. I've seen mixed reviews of that, mostly due to a change of studio and thus a significant downgrade in the quality of animation. Some say it's more like the manga now, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. I understood Season 1 to be a mostly self-contained parody of the superhero genre and other shōnen anime/manga, and I think if it continues much further, it risks becoming that which it parodied.

Season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. begins next week. No word yet on if/how it will incorporate the events of Infinity War and Endgame. All we know is that the last few episodes of Season 5 happened concurrently with the first and maybe second acts of Infinity War, because they referenced the battle with the Black Order in New York.

This is the best Game of Thrones reaction video I've ever seen…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRA91h3n2oY

And it appears to be legitimate…

https://www.saoluisshopping.com/2019/04/game-of-thrones/

…unlike many of the other reaction videos that have been posted over the last two days in order to steal clicks.

Another perspective…

Be warned, it's a little spicy.

Me, I'm reserving judgement because we still have three episodes to go and there should be several more twists before the end. For example, see my earlier prediction…

viewtopic.php?p=242979#p242979

…and that's just what's been telegraphed already by the interactions this season between the major characters (e.g., Jon and Dany, Dany and Sansa, Sansa and Tyrion).
