For some reason, the latest duckflash reminds me of the old Yorkshire dialect song, On Ilkla Moor Baht 'at:

Warning: duck trauma, second-hand cannibalism, and excessive repetition of chorus:

I don't even like grits, but that sounds pretty tasty.

I've thought about doing overnight oats, but it doesn't seem worth it when only 2 people in my house will eat them. :fear:

Cooked oatmeal refrigerates and reheats fairly well, so you can portion a large batch into meal prep bowls or mason jars. (Do not use plastic. You will regret it.) But assuming you cook it with milk, you really do need to finish it within a week or two, before it goes sour.

DUCK CHRONICLES
Today I came across the ducks at the far kitty-corner of their block.
Image
The female was eating her veggies, I think. Looked like she was eating the grass seeds.
Image
They both crossed over the sidewalk to the pink flowers and the female was foraging the grass when a woman walking her dog came from around the corner which killed the picture.
Image
So then, I wanted to get a picture of the woman, dog, and the ducks altogether but I wasn’t fast enough. Because the friendly dog (his head came up to my hip) was dragging the woman after the ducks but she gets him to continue across the street and the ducks ended up in front of the truck.
Image
The woman seemed to know about the ducks because she said “they didn’t care” meaning they are so friendly to everyone.

Spooky house still extra spooky. Glad I don't live near it. Wouldn't mind some ducks, though.

I dunno. I think it would be a lot spookier without all the scaffolding.

Although there might be some kind of special scaffold ghosts who go for that sort of thing...

When you bite into banana nut bread, you do not want to bite into something leathery. I bit into something leathery. As far as I can tell, some egg white or chalaza did not mix properly into the batter and instead settled to the bottom, where it cooked into an almost solid sheet of protein.

Great way to start the day.
