I recently became interested in studying Polish because I have never studied any Slavic languages, and there is a large presence of Polish people in Chicago anyway. I mostly like how it sounds. I am not that interested in all the crazy grammar.

I've gotten used to the sound of some languages to the point where it feels comforting just to hear them, even if I don't speak them very well. i always feel at least a little bit more comfortable and at home when I hear Tagalog (although I only know a few words), and I guess I feel that way to a degree around German and Russian, as well, now that I think about it.

I'm not saying any of you cruise Tumblr for actual porn, but Tumblr is one of those communities — like DeviantArt — where users have felt free to push boundaries, so content that you think isn't explicit might be hidden anyhow, just to be safe. That's how this sort of thing often works.

OK. I just made some coffee using the office Keurig machine. I packed one of the reusable plastic-and-screen k-cups with some nice French roast, then pushed buttons and fiddled with the device until it worked (I should probably read the manual ). It filled the cup about 3/4 full of what looked/smelled like rather weak coffee - so, like the barbarian that I am, I added a heaping spoonful of generic freeze-dried, just to make sure that it was strong enough to keep me awake.
