The only thing I can think of is alcoholism which adds another layer of sadness to the whole thing. I can't imagine her still being that drunk from the night before.

酒気帯びのうえ、ひき逃げしたとして逮捕された「元モーニング娘。」の吉沢ひとみ容疑者が「自宅で夫と午前0時ごろまで酒を飲んでいた」と話していることが分かりました。

　警視庁によりますと「元モーニング娘。」でタレントの吉沢ひとみ容疑者は、9月6日の朝、東京・中野区の交差点で車を酒気帯びの状態で運転して赤信号を無視しました。そして自転車に乗っていた20代の女性をはね、近くを歩いていた40代男性にもケガを負わせ立ち去った疑いが持たれています。

　吉沢容疑者からは基準の値の約4倍に当たるアルコールが検出されています。警視庁の調べに対し吉沢容疑者は「お酒が体に入っていた。ぶつかって立ち去ったことは間違いない」と容疑を認めています。

　さらに「自宅で夫と逮捕当日の午前0時ごろまで飲んでいた。缶酎ハイ3缶を飲んだ」と話していることが分かりました。

Looking at Chuuhai's they are 8-9% alcohol, unless she drank them like 45 minutes before she went out, slamming em down one after the other, and drove there's no way that's the truth.
