Already taken down but here is an official footage from NPB (safe to assume that it won't be copyrighted).
https://twitter.com/PacificleagueTV/sta ... 9769187329Guess this makes her the 2nd singer ever from Up Front-affiliated to sing national anthem at a sporting event - the first being Matsuura, who had done it a few times. Suzuki didn't sound good singing this, but it's a bit awkward tune to sing, especially for pop singers (idol singers included). She did her best as she wrote afterwards. National anthems are typically not written with killer melodies anyway.
Here is Matsuura from 2010, also singing before a NPB game - she sped it up in this instance and with more pronounced vibrato, it's a bit better but not drastically better. Still awkward IMO.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUwfDaf0l1kThe one performance that sounded good (to me) was a female singer singing in a full-on classical style, so guess that's what it takes for Japanese national anthem.

I think Airi was just really nervous. However, yes the national anthems not being exactly the most pop-singer-friendly doesn't help, lol.

That's amazing. I'm glad it's been a success, I know people were a little worried.

Does Oricon still do it's projection/awareness survey?
I know ~we~ all know the CD is coming and I wouldn't be surprised if a decent sized chunk of the general idol fandom knows it's coming but I'm a bit curious to know how much of the general Japanese public know it's coming.
I'm hoping for a Top 10 placement because that would seem ~succesful~ enough for more future releases.

They still do Ninki, but they haven't put it up for next week's releases yet.

Honestly I'm a bit nervous as well. If she were debuting with just a single she'd be fine, but its so unusual for an artist to debut with an album and do well without mainstream attention or any tie-ins. I hope Upfront know what they're doing.
