Huh. UUG(2) went from looking like something the cat dragged in to balls-to-the-wall* idols pretty damn quickly. Although -- I say again -- that flute thing is NEVER going to work. Nobody but the wackadoodlest "that's-my-fetish"-ist wants to be taken out of a "cute girls kawaii!!!" reverie by being forced to think of boogers. That aside, if they're going to keep going in this conventional idol direction, they should just get their own proper group name.

*I recently learned that "balls to the wall" didn't have the unsavory connotations I previously assumed it had. Now I want to use it everywhere to make up for lost time!

As in the past, I have to disagree about the noseflute. I think it's important to be jarred out of the total fantasy world of idol-dom from time to time, and the noseflute adds a special levity to the whole experience. It's still cute and schtick-y and childish, but it reminds you that they're human and do silly stuff that isn't fully scripted to appeal to the false purity/overtly-sexual-while-still-feigning-innocence standard.
I'm thinking that if they went balls-to-the-wall with weird/gross stuff then THAT would feel fetish-y and ick. But currently the noseflute itself still strikes me as funny.

Anyway, agree to disagree.

…in official (仮) costumes? I can't tell if they're supposed to be full members of (仮) now, with their own colors, or if they simply borrowed old costumes (from the original video for "Up Up Typhoon") for this event. I'm guessing the latter.
