I think the list isn't indicative of idol PVs at all. Ladybaby ranked first and that's far from worthy.
Candidates were selected by idol otaku websites like the gross website Nihongogo, and then voted for by a few people who participated in online voting.
Only important because people in Japan think it means anything.

Looks like the Japanese fans and the Western fans actually agree on Maachan. This may be the first time I've seen the two groups agree on an overall favorite.

My roommate has been a Maachan fan since Maachan got into Morning Musume. She says her sudden skyrocket to the top is really weird for her. She's never been a fan of someone so popular, let alone someone who BECAME so popular, she says she's in a really weird place in her fangirling right now.

It's hard to share favorites. But in a group like Morning Musume where it's always evolving, the back girls eventually become front due partially because of tenure.

I always knew Masaki was going to be pulled into the center eventually. She had too much hidden talent to be kept a secret for long. Hopefully 2016 is kind to her and her fans.

Not a bad year, but not a hell of a lot going on (understandably). Call me an asshole or whatever, but H!P isn't the same without Tsunku's music all over the place. It's not bad, and I'm still gonna follow them until the bitter end no matter who produces them, but after almost a decade it's a huge change that'll take me a while to get used to. I know he's not gone and he's doing the best he can, and I'm not angry at him or anyone else because this is basically the only scenario that could happen in this situation. But the non-Tsunku songs don't have that same... spark or extra layer or whatever. They can try to replicate it, but it's still missing. Then again H!P is more than just the music so hey. I'm just being selfish here.
