I doubt the drop was down to just Uta's departure, there are more reasons to consider.
What will happen if they continue to do only this kind of cute songs? It will be hard to keep the sales up with the H!P core fan base being more into the up tempo / cool / quirky / dance songs which H!P is known for. Especially with the factories also new on the block, they will have to work hard to compete for the support of the fans. That are already 2 other different possible reasons for the drop.
It going to be interesting to see what Up Front has in store for them next. Will Momoko keep her roll in the group? Will we see some visible input from Satoda Mai into the group? Will they stay cute or will they switch up their style? Country Musume also did very diverse songs, it's not like they will be going against their roots if Up Front throws a cool dance track into the mix if they continue to drop further.
