I'm saddened that there is a "traditional" version of Seishun. It's like the other one doesn't even matter. The one I'm looking forward to much more.

Edit: The H!S version of Yuugure is much less Karin-offensive than what was on Gyao. But the cutting and direction of the Gyao one was so pretty, and for some reason this seems less. I can't win apparently . It's still odd she gets close ups at all, honestly. I'm not sure what was going through UF*'s mind when they decided that, but this version doesn't feel like it's Karin and the Morning Musume-ettes at least.

The HaroSute version of Yuugure wa Ameagari makes me more relieved now. More focused on the actual members. Karin still got like 2 close-ups in that preview, but it doesn't feel like the music video was centered on her anymore.

Im with forgetmenots its so misleading to hype up this single with the Big Chance MV but then make another standard basic PV.
They're literally getting off with the small technicality that is "Promotion Edit." versus the "Music Video" version that'll get included on the single DVD.

I'm a big fan of Karin but I'm hating on how they even filmed close-ups for her and not Zukki, because Ayumi didn't film any close-ups for Ijiwaru and Karin got to film her own solo close-ups, its straight-up unnecessary. It would've been more appropriate imo to just leave the Promotion Edit as the Big Chance MV with Zukki in it not the stand in. Fans would care more about a member missing than a member missing from a busy dance formation.

Also the fact that for the two a-sides they had to divide the budget for this single to make 4 MVs and have 2 cheap PVs doesn't make sense to me....

I actually prefer these "cheap" MVs to the contest one . Then again I have trouble focusing on lots of things at once, so busy MVs aren't really my thing.

On the downside, Karin. I like her but ehhhhh she doesn't belong in the closeups. They weren't as obnoxious as I thought, but I still don't like them.

On the plus side, everyone looked great in both MVs. 12th gen seem really polished already. It's impressive.

I'm incredibly pissed off. What makes UF and H!P think that their boring ass PV formula is so perfect and untouchable that they can't even let a contest winner make the official PV for one damn single. He gets to make some obscure unofficial PV and get basically crapped on. (His PV isn't featured on H!S and he's not even on a limited edition) His PV is a million times better than what we usually get. Even the outfits should have been used. They are given a chance to do something great and instead they stick to their own lackluster formula. I've never been this angry at the company in my life.

I will say THANK god that the H!S version of Yuugure is much better than that preview we saw.I love Karin but she's just substituting and they shouldn't be giving her close ups AT ALL.

This single had a chance of being one of their greatest and now I'm just too angry. I HATE the version of Seishun Kozou that H!P made. It's boring. And 90% of H!P's videos are just as boring and it makes H!P as a whole look stale and overly produced with no creativity.

Yuugure's PV is nice with the cherry blossoms I guess. It's certainly better than Seishun, but like I don't even like the song very much so I'm like whatever.

^I'm still holding out that the Big Chance MV is the official one we'll get when we buy it. I dunno, it's not bad, it's just a lot of weird decisions they've made with this single and my brain keeps going TSUNKU MUST HAVE EVEN LESS CONTROL THAN NORMAL which is just silly... since I'm sure he still has a degree of control, especially since the two songs are his. I love both the songs. I love the Yuugure PV (weird Karin decision aside) The scene with Maachan keyholed by the 12th Gen is really cool.

They all really do look fantastic.

I'm just really confused as to why UF* seems to be making disrespectful decisions when their respect of their idols and others are a reason I like H!P in the first place.

Hopefully I can erase the unease it causes me so I can just enjoy what really is a great single.

^^Did you miss the part where this is the Hello! Station version? That'll be shown nowhere else? The main version of the MV is the promotion edit, which is what the contest winner (probably) directed?

It's could also be that it's a copyright thing. UF may not be able to hold onto the rights of his MV forever, or may only be able to use it for certain things, and I think in that case -- maybe -- they decided to make their own. I could be talking out of my ass here though.

The MV itself, when it gets uploaded on YouTube, and when it gets released on the DVD and future collections, will have WAY more publicity and views than the H!S version. Most people will ignore this version.

Also, I might be the only one, but I like H!P's MVs. Yes, I'd like it if they'd experiment more, but they're simple. And I like that. And I'd also rather have them spend their budget on the songs and promotion rather than on the MV. I'm sure they could do better.

You know what, though? H!P's had cheap, basic MVs since the beginning. There have been a couple of exceptions, but on the whole, they follow the same formula. That ain't gonna change any time soon tbh.

The whole 'dance shot + close-up + one more shot' routine is quite common throughout all of J-Pop.

Just go through one of those weekly Oricon top 30 video compilations on Youtube.
You'd be surprised how many (group) acts adhere to the formula on a regular basis. Especially idols.

Heck just take a gander at the Lantis Youtube channel. Even the dance shot gets ommited most of the time over there.

H!P is certainly not the exception.
