first news report says Morning Musume. '14 single sold 135k, Weekly Rank #2. It's their 57th consecutive top 10 single and their record continues. surpasses the previous single (119k). Kanjani 8 sold 271k.

Okay, before anyone says "Darnit, why didn't they release two weeks ago, when the competition was SEXY ZONE? They would have gotten another #1!", please remember the following:

1) They were in New York two weeks ago.

2) Scheduling an entire campaign is a huge deal, and this might have been the only week they could get the TV and radio appearances and the billboards and the venue for the release event and all of the members free.

4) They couldn't hold it any longer — it's already been six months since their last single and Sayu's graduation is in a month.

In short, this was as good as it was going to get.

Listen carefully. You'll hear it. During the dance break, during the "tiki bun" parts....

^They actually make a play with a lot of "chiki-chiki"-s and a casual "chiki-bun", thus the uplifting beatrhythm is maintained. The parts with most "chiki-bun"-s are where the speed goes higher.


As about the single, just awesome! Numbers are great, I agree that our wishes would always be them to be higher but those are seroiusly great already - as the graduation single for Sayu, leaving like this means a pretty good base for the ret of the girls. Now left the album only, we'll see what happens.
And all this is also making me wonder about the next single, which will be the first one without Sayumi and laso the first one with the 12ki girls..... aghgh it sure will be awesome, it has to be it! )-D
