Berryz Koubou have gone on indefinite hiatus as of 3/3

I'm just pointing out that, having a whole group graduate as a first major graduation to impact someone... that's a hard step as opposed to one person.

Yeah, I think this is one big difference between individual members leaving and this.

Anyway, I remember how the Mari thread was exploding back in 2005. That was the earlier one I was there for. Also, graduation threads tend to be filled with people's mini-essays about how they feel about the girls.

I got into H!P seriously (as opposed to just having heard of them) late 2004, and I got into Berryz soon enough, before Special Generation was released for sure. Yeah, crazy how it's been ten years already. I'm less than 2 years older than Captain so it's weird how the ones younger than me eventually became the oldies in H!P.

^Every graduation page will explode, because people love their favorite girls, and don't want them to leave. It's a sad thing. It's a part of your life taken away, it's a precious memory and loved one that... is ending. For many cases, it continues. (like Gaki, Aichan, Mano, Linlin, etc...) But for the ones that leave, (like we will probably see with Maasa or Momochi) it's really sad. :c

Speaking of getting into Berryz, i realized something insane today.
I started HS 3 years ago. I got into Berryz.... 3 years ago. (basically, mid-august before i started 9th grade)... and.... this coming spring, I'm going to graduate high school.
Berryz is ending... this spring.
So basically, my High school duration... is my Berryz duration too. (well, obviously i will listen to my favorite group after they disband.)
Such a weird coincidence.
...wish I'd have learned about them YEARS ago.

^^ Not just compared to H!P Kids. It feels weird that we were among the youngest JPM members back then, but now even the average newcomer to JPLOP is younger than us. Times are changing.

I consider the Mari thread the symbolic start of my wotaism. It was suspenseful and emotional for days. Will she get fired? Will she resign? Who will become leader, Rika or Yossi? Will she be a part of the Osaka Koi no Uta performances? Sadness, frustration, fear for MM, and Tsunku damnation ensued.

It's all part of idol grief.

My first graduation was my favorite member from my favorite group a few short months after I just discovered the group. I'm a stone cold bitch when it comes to people leaving

W getting canned sucked, Koharu leaving sucked, Pandas leaving sucked, Mano leaving sucked, Yuuka and Ogasaki leaving S/mileage sucked. I think these are the only graduations that bothered me Now my favorite group is going away entirely, so I guess it takes the cake.

Tsunku is also in bad shape. Tsunku might also have to.... *gulp* leave soon. ;-;
And if Tsunku has to leave... that's kinda like taking every group and dumping it in the trash. (except of course, they will still exist... just... without the tsunku luster)

I always thought Berryz really enjoyed being Berryz and being idols, and that they'd keep being a thing even if some members left or even if H!P got rid of them. So I'm legit shocked if this was their decision, but at the same time it's completely understandable. You might love your job, but wouldn't want to have the same job for 10+ years. Now, really, I'm mostly hoping Momoko stays in H!P and does something interesting.
